Jameis Winston fined $12K for poking our boy

Evans went after Lattimore because Lattimore pushed Bucs quarterback Jameis Winston in the chest after Winston, who was not in the game at the time, poked him in the back of the head. That got Lattimore’s attention, obviously, and it also caught the attention of the league.
Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Winston has been fined $12,154 for the poke. Winston apologized for doing it this week and there’s no word if he plans to appeal the fine.
Winston will join Evans on the bench this week, although it’s his right shoulder and not a suspension that will keep him out of the lineup.

So about 30% of his game check? I'm surprised the league did not try to make an example out of him. He was not involved in the play and was out of the game on the sideline. Yet, he came onto the field in order to start an altercation. Should hae seen a suspension plus an additional fine.

Is it me or does the instigator always get a slap on the wrist? He's solely to blame for the entire incident. He's the reason Evans is suspended. Unless, this was planned and it sure looks like it. If so, Evans got off light.

To put that into perspective:
Winston signed a $23.35 million contract with the Buccaneers for four years, with a $16.7 million signing bonus.
So that's 40 million dollars over 4 years.
Thats 10 millions dollars a year.
That's fine represents .0012% of his annual income with the NFL.
In other words, it's the equivalent of you making $100,000 a year and your boss fining you $120 for misconduct.

Yup knew this was coming. Both the suspension and the fine were about what I thought, though imo both should have been greater.
Still in all, that's one expensive poke, perhaps the most Winston has ever paid for one.
