In '09 if Vilma doesn't audible against the Vikings we lose and he picked up manning's audibles and hot routes in the super bowl. You need to mourn him.

It is a sad day because theses Saints contributed greatly to our organization. Respect to them and will always be remembered. If you think differently, you are an idiot.

Vilma was really important. I was really excited when we traded for him. We hadn't had a real pro-bowl caliber linebacker in a long time.

yes, a legend.

Worst players than him from Saint's past have, and still are, revered.

Loomis mentioned he wanted to be under the cap for March, the start of FA. they still have to tender all their RFAs. we needed to cut now.

They could have still tendered them while over the cap. Ditto for franchising Graham. Deadline to be under is in September. This actually implies that they may be aggressive in free agency. Designating the players as post June 1st cuts wouldn't have freed up cap space until then, but that's fine if they were simply trying to free up Graham franchise cash. Just seems that they may be going after a Keenan Lewis type signing, hopefully one that works out that well.

yeah i agree. it had to be pretty obvious who the initial cuts would be and where you needed to fill holes. in order to really benefit from those cuts is to be able to be aggressive in FA. i like the moves.

Be that as it may, the pickings were slim as well.

People will remember him, but calling him a legend is a bit much.

Quit knighting for these shitty players. Respect the franchise not Vilma.

It just annoys me when a poster feels the need to correct people on the level of respect they show towards the players to make themselves appear to be the superior fan.

And I said nothing about it being wrong to respect players, but rather you're not obligated.

All four should be mourned, but two needed to go (smith, vilma), one was a tossup (Harper)... But I think the saints just fricked themselves by cutting Greer.

I just think you are having trouble understanding what im talking about. Living in bumfrick wherever you live, not attending games, listening to local radio, and just being a fan for a few years.

in the end i really dont care if you respect harper or not. But i will draw my conclusions as is.

First off, my comment wasn't about you.

Second, I was born in southern Louisiana, and I've been a fan since I was 6, when I went to my first game.

Seriously, frick you and your stupid super nawlins machismo.

Roman Harper is gone. I'm actually excited about football in February!

Nice guy but SOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad he's gone. He was a weak spot on this team.

Now trade Ingram and let's get back to winning!!!

wtf do you care how "big of a fan" someone is? are you 15? what's the measure of a fan? what must one do to be considered "a true fan"?

actually, don't answer that, because no one really gives a shite what you think

as far as harper goes, yeah, he was a solid player for the Saints. Fact is he sucks now. Period

He's not going to play another game for us, so i dont see the need to bash the guy. He had many more bright moments than bad. 2x pro bowl, world champ, never missed games, big in the community. guy was a true professional
