It's Watson's choice at this point. He can pick from 10 teams.

Saints need to go all out in convincing him to play with Thomas and Kamara.
Thomas, Kamara, Jordan, Davis, Ramczyk, McCoy, and Lattimore need to be there.
Show Watson the Saints have more to work with than any other team in the running.

If you think one of these wasn't in the offer we sent, you are quite naive. He'll be playing with either Thomas or Kamara, not both.

With the no trade clause, Watson holds all the cards. He can force the Texans hand. Take a very reasonable offer, or he decides he wants to play in Houston (not a real option for the team).

That's not how that works. The Texans don't have to take an offer just because Deshaun wants to go there. They can always ask for more.
People who think we're going to trade Ram and some constantly injured DE and some picks without losing a truly elite asset for a top QB are some kind of special.

Why would we restructure their contracts (meaning our cap space would be fricked if they were traded) if we were going to try to trade them?

I’m not saying he would do that to come here but it’s not a crazy concept. Texans don’t want him back.

Was Deshaun cleared of criminal charges when the Saints extended them? There's your answer. Put simply, you eat money to have a top QB when one becomes available at the caliber of a Deshaun.

Thomas’s cap hit on a trade is >$24M, Kamara’s is >$13M. At this point they’re struggling to clear enough cap space as it is. How do they account for either of those hits? Go ahead and explain it and I’ll believe you.

That is true and the team can then say sorry, too high.
And watson can say well, that is the only team I will play for (he won't, at least not with the Saints) so guess you're paying me to sit all season or maybe you want me to start after all.
So now Houston has 3 options,
1. trade for what the team Watson decided on is offering
2. pay watson to either sit or start him (unlikely) this season
3. cut Watson and get nothing for him except possibly residual salary cap responsibilities (net sure how all that works).
FTR, doubt that will happen. Watson would gladly accept more than one team I suspect. If someone had or does hire Brian Flores, they may have an inside track, however.
