It could be worse. We could’ve drafted Zach Wilson.

That’s why it’s better to go with a somewhat proven Vet.

That would not be worse. ZW doesn't add another useless contract on the books if it doesn't work out. First round money is nowhere near what we're in on Carr for.

So you’d rather have no QB like Jet’s do?
They also brought in a vet that costs a lot.

Jets are much better off.
Zach can be cut. He can be traded. Derek cannot
They have a much younger and better roster. Also don’t have DA.

We will draft our version of him this year. Be patient!

You moved the goalposts. If we had the ability to see the future and we drafted ZW and brought in a vet for $150m and neither panned out, then yeah sure that would be worse. But that’s not what you said. Anyway, this is stoopid.

Wilson is in year 3 of his original 4 year contract. He won't get his option so he is an expiring next year.
They still have Rodgers and if they wanted to they could draft someone to learn behind him.
We have been without Brees for 3 years now
How much money have we paid Jameis, Taysom, Dalton, and Derek combined for QB play over that time? How much will we still be paying 3 of those guys over the next 3-4 years?
I think I'd rather be the Jets...even without Rodgers...an expiring and we all know what our 1st round pick would be and there would be almost no repercussions for it in the locker room or cap wise

Why can't Carr improve as the season goes on? I have no faith in Carmichael. That MF has been in this system nearly 20 years. Carr hasn't been here for half a year yet. We (and I mean we. I've been hating on him a while) haven't given him a fair shot. Dude was called Carrbage after week 1 after a win

Drafting a QB can work. It worked for Dan Marino, Peyton manning, Big Ben, Troy Aikman, John Elway, Terry Bradshaw, Joe Namath, Eli Manning, phillip Rivers (kinda), Jim Plunkett, Joey B, Pat Mahommes, Aaron Rodgers. Kinda better to draft your future starter.

With this regime YES.
I would 100/100 times rather not have an overpriced 8-9/9-8 type of qb.
We don’t really have a qb of any kind of long term value either. But we’re paying him like we do.

They have a #2 overall flop and 66 million and 49 million in dead cap the next 2 seasons for 41 and 42 year old Rodgers coming off major injury with a terrible oline
Posted on 11/21/23 at 8:50 am to msstate7
I would take injured 41 year old Rodgers any day over the shite we have at qb.
Posted on 11/21/23 at 8:53 am to msstate7
It really seems like people think 2023 Rodgers is still 30 year old Rodgers. Not to mention Carr's stats last year almost match Rodgers from last year playing in 2 less games.

We gave him a overly 'fair' $150 million to step in and be a significant upgrade. Although I don't really blame Carr for being a bum because its our fault we hired a mediocre/bad/washed QB. But I also don't feel bad for the guy, he's eating steak and lobster every night.

Hard to do when you have the worst play caller in all of football who just so happens to be under one of the worst head coaches in the sport.

Just keep doing what you're doing

And we’re now comparing our team to the Jets…. Thanks DA!

Jets are not far away. Their QB bit it early.

All I know is when Taysom and even Jameis are catching snaps, more points have ended up on the scoreboard, as of late. I'm not a fan of Carmichael or DA but I'm not going to pretend like I know as much as they do about football. NFL is 80% copy and paste from each other. Hell, Carr should be able to run an offense on his own by this point. I can only cut the guy so much slack

As of late being last game? Winston didnt score any vs GB
