Which was exactly the case last year...

It just seems like the games now are more of a social event and the thing to do on Sunday. There is a lot of people in the dome who don't have a clue whats going on and have no interest to cheer whether things are going good or bad. Many people are selling their tickets for profit. I can't blame anyone for that. Just wish they would sell to Saints fans that want to cheer the team on. Not to the opposing team. Green Bay was the most away fans that has been in the dome in a long time. San Fran had its share of fans there too...

Did you attend any games pre '06? Literally the only part of that statement that doesn't apply is the selling for profit

You have a bad memory then.

Pitt, Green Bay, SF, etc. have always had a lot of fans in the dome

Yep. The Pitt game on Halloween a few years ago is still the most away fans I've seen in the dome.

Haven't missed a game since '99..
Are you saying some season ticket holders are not selling their tickets for profit?

No, I'm saying that they've always done it.

Remember the Steelers game in 2010 on Halloween night?

The Cowboys game in 2009?

Before 2006, SF may have had games with equal # of fans

How? At this point last year we were 8-2 and every home game was loud. We blew the division on the road in week 15 and 16.

This week's game was as "boring" a home performance as there has been in the Payton era. 3 yards and a cloud of dust from the run, bunch of check downs through the air, and continuous deflating failed stops on D.

TO a POS QB who had one of the worst performances in NFL history just a week before against the fricking Browns.

It isn't enough that the defense is pathetic though, right? No, you have dumb frick Payton calling pedestrian plays while the NFL has passed him by. You have Brees fricking up missing open receivers and of course, what's a game without a Colston drop?

And OP wonders why people weren't going nuts? 3rd and 8, 3rd and 8, 3rd and 12, 3rd and 18, etc etc.

frick this season.

If that's true, and you think from 99-05 the Dome was packed to the rafters with Saints Fans that knew exactly what is going on and not just there for a social event and only now is it the "thing to do" on sundays then I'm guessing you have some kind of memory disability or a sever learning disorder.

And after every loss the sky was falling. Before 09, people would have been ecstatic with last years team.

No disputing that. But maybe the players could have fed off more energy from the crowd. I know they get paid a lot of money to do their job, but they definitely feed off the home crowd. Positive and Negative

Fans didn't turn until week 15 when we blew the 2 seed in St. Louis then blew the division the next week.

Fans feed off good stuff happening. Nothing good happened for about 2 hours of real time.

You seem to like to twist what people actually said into what you want it to say

My section (620) still made noise, though there were less of us standing and screaming.
It was no where near as loud as the last game. Though a Cincy fan in front of me kept saying it was very loud.

Is the dome turning in to Tiger Stadium?
I wish the dome could turn in to another Tiger Stadium because I consider Tiger Stadium the pinnacle of the football world. Tiger Stadium was its old self for the last two games. The Dome at its peak (2009)takes a back seat to no other pro stadium. It is hard for the crowd to remain whipped up into a frenzy when we are getting our butts beat. Same with Tiger Stadium when we are playing non-conference patsies. Both places know when to rise to the occasion.
