Is anyone else surprised the Saints didn't come away with a tight end in this draft

I agree that d and o-line were the top priorities but if they were thinking they were done with trautman it almost makes it worse they didn't draft anyone.

They had some great talent in this draft at tightend.

We saw what happened when they waited 3 years too late to draft a tight end last time.

I thought for depth we might draft a safety, LB'er and a TE.

You have to assume they are targeting someone in free agency. Let's see how it plays out.

Board just didn’t fall that way. They made good selections that fill holes with good players that have a high character. They did a nice job IMO. We can find a blocking TE but I think they give Krull a shot as the TE2 but most likely it will be a vet signing. Cameron Brate please.

I wasn't really complaining. I was just wanting to hear everyone's opinions. If they knew they were getting rid of trautman right before the draft, then yeah, they needed to draft one.

I just thought this was a great draft to get a top tight end. I liked a few. The draft doesn't always line up that way.

Before the trautman trade I would've ranked tight end near the bottom of the list. Next year would be the year to draft another tight end.

Imo unless you are drafting a tight end in round one, they usually need a year to settle in.

There isn't much for TE in the UDFA...

I hear you on that. But honestly look around the NFL unless you have big time TE like Kelce or Kittle, how important are TEs overall. Not belittling the position just saying looking around the league. Now they’re may be studs at TE in the draft but I also think team had other pressing needs. See not all my posts are as bad as complaining about a girl when the pink color shows up during gender reveal lol Thats such a horrible suburban dad analogy hahahaha
