Is anyone else put off by Drew's disappointed, sad guy bit?

Not to say that he isn't generally disappointed, but I felt his interview today was really manipulative.
The guy speaks tactically and deliberately, and I know the whole point of the interview was to instill uneasiness and fear into fans. Now while that might put pressure on the club and ultimately lead to a new deal, it sort of rubbed me the wrong way.
He stated that the numbers put out there were inflated, but I would really like to know what he was offered to leave him so disappointed. While it obviously isn't what he wants, if it makes him the highest paid QB, how is it not a fair offer?

Well that's the point when you negotiate through the media. I don't begrudge him for wanting his money.

He did play at a ridiculously high level for 3 years for a fraction of what it was worth. He also did not hold out last year, knowing he was going to be compensated for a fraction of what he's worth.
He's right, this shouldn't be hard, just pay him. If either side had nuts they'd come out with the figures that each side has presented, then let the public make comments and opinions.

I don't either, but he knows this fanbase is on edge. We've been put through the ringer this off-season. I just didn't appreciate how he handled the interview. Believe me I will give zero fricks about it when he signs, but right now I just a bit put off.

Neither Drew Brees, his agent, nor the Saints are angels as some people think. They are all money hungry as is most of the world. Both sides are doing whatever it takes to make the most money. This interview was an example of posturing.
This deal will get done in the 11th hour. Until then it's going to be negotiation tactics. Fans need to quit worrying about it.

So what if the Roman Harper thing is true and now that it got out Drew had to do this interview to cover up whats really going on. Kinda funny that up until now he wouldnt speak a word about his contract now right after the Harper thing comes out he does an interview about his contract.
