Both times that TB won the Superbowl the Saints beat them twice during the regular season each time!

At least they beat a defending champion last night.

Their first Super Bowl win was versus arguably the worst super bowl team of all time. That Raiders team was bad.

Why do you keep repeating this? Can you back up this statement with anything?
Raiders were the AFC #1 seed
#1 offense
League MVP QB
They were favored in the Super Bowl

What makes them the worst Super Bowl team of all time?

delusional. i debunked this garbage earlier.

quote:

point was tampa had a great Defense, lynch, brooks, mcfarland, sapp, rice, etc and serviceable 0ffense yes oakland was good. gruden had built that oakland team before going to tampa. oakland had the top ranked offense in the league. tampa had the top rated defense. you need to go back and refresh your memory.

Do you not remember that Gruden coached the Raiders the year before and knew their entire offense?

Brooks and Lynch were calling out every play the Raiders ran during the game.

Gannon was so overrated.

They were 11-5 and at one point lost 4 in a row. Not the greatest AFC champion of all time.

The wise guys in the desert disagree. The Raiders were a 3.5 point favorite in that super bowl.

Also, 2 of their 4 straight losses were in OT.

I would say the 94 Chargers were worse.

I always forget that they've even been to the Super Bowl before. Their only appearance, and it was absolutely forgettable.

It is one of the worst takes I have seen. I don't think the 2002 Raiders are in the top 15 worst Super Bowl teams.

They were old as hell but still had:
The #1 offense in the NFL in yards (#2 in points scored)
The MVP at QB
3 good WRs
a RB with nearly 2000 all-purpose yards
a point differential of +146 (The 2011 Giants were at -1 and the 2008 Cardinals at +7)
While their defense wasn't great... they were still firmly top half. (#11 yards, #6 points, #8 in forced TOs, #3 in rush D)
Hall of Famer Rod Woodson had one his greatest seasons of his career at age 37 with 8 INTs, 2 TDs, 3 FRs and a 1st team all-pro nod

They were 4 point favorites in the Super Bowl. Can't be the worst team to ever play in a super bowl if you were the favorites going into the game

The only tidbit I’ll ever care about is that all three of their TD drives against us totaled fewer yards than either of our TD drives.

So in other words, the Bucs would be smart to throw both of those division games next season

Bucs got hot at the right time
I wish the mid season Saints would have been the team to play at the end of the season

Another huge advantage was playing road playoff games with no fans, that makes a huge difference
Plus the Saints would have likely had a bye week under normal years which would have also helped

That was 18 years ago. Do you really remember if they were bad, or are you basing your memory off the fact they got beat badly and then went on to be a terrible team for 10+ years?
