Ingram posted the best time of all running backs in the 10-yard split drill with a time of 1.55 seconds at the NFL Combine two weeks ago. If you are not sure what the split drill is used to measure, scouts look at it as an indicator of how fast a player can reach his finest speed with minimal pace. This is a HUGE part of what scouts examine when determining a skill level of a running back.

so maybe there is reason for some excitement, speed was my main concern with the pick, but 10 yard speed is more important in the NFL at RB than 40 times

Ingram is a beast, rbs have been undervalued for awhile.

We're in good shape if his worst problem is getting run down 40 yards down the field

his highlight reels are fun to watch. He seems unstoppable at the point of attack. Gets run down by fast safeties every now and then, but frick man, if the guys is getting caught after running 40 or 50 yards because he busted up the line of scrimmage, that's a high class problem to have.

Can he pick up 3rd and 2? If so, CHAMPIONSHIP.

Granted all these highlights were before the knee you can tell that he has that 10 yard split down.

Not to mention his incredible balance. You cannot tackle this guy if you don't wrap him up or he just shrugs your arse off.

Iirc, at the combine they said his 10 yard split was a tenth faster than the average of the rbs at the previous year's combine. They were making a pretty big deal about it. He might not have end high speed, but he's got great vision and quickness and knows how to break tackles.

Unlike our $11 million/year delicate RB, Ingram can hit and get yards.
A real RB instead of an overrated and chronically hurt "decoy"

There's not a better indicator of success for RBS than the 10-yard split and the short shuttle. He destroyed each. 40 is retarted for RBs.

Getting to the line and the quick burst between tackles.

Juking around the ends not easy in the NFL as Bush could verify
