The NFL draft is coming and the New Orleans Saints may look at some running backs, as Mark Ingram's deadline for his fifth year option is coming up and a trade to a team like the Denver Broncos, New England Patriots, Pittsburgh Steelers or NY Giants could be possible in the future if the deal is not picked up, as the team already dealt Darren Sproles and could be looking to replace both those players with young prospects.

Holy run-on sentence. Yeah, site looks totally legit.

This isn't a rumor.

It's a hypothetical.

Considering that article is almost a week and and we haven't seen it anywhere else, seems legit.

by weight do you mean Ingram's weight the rest of the team must carry if he isn't traded?

Yeah, I like to start shite

Kind of a wordy attempt at shite-stirring.

That's speculation, not a rumor. There isn't much upside to trading him anyway. The most we could likely get back is a 6th round pick. He's still on his rookie contract, only 24 years old, and seems to be improving every season. While not impossible, a trade at this point doesn't seem very beneficial.

You never know, but probably not.

1) Ingram hasn't done much to get teams interested in trading for him.

2) RBs are pretty disposable in the NFL now.

3) Trading Ingram would leave us with PT, Robinson and Cadet. Not sure the Saints want that unless they draft someone.

Just my thoughts.

Thanks Les Miles.

Seriously though, PT gets injured a lot. Cadet has done little to nothing yet, and Robinson did well in preseason and had some flashes, but has not established himself as a "full time" NFL running back.

True, Ingram didn't do much until the end of last year, but I don't see them going from 5 running backs to 3 in one year unless someone makes a great trade proposal. (which I doubt since he hasn't been all that good his career.)

And I think some people are reading WAY too much into the decision not to pick up the cost-prohibitive fifth year option.

I wouldn't be mad about it, especially if we turned it int something worthwhile.

But man this whole Ingram situation has just been so shitty. We jump back into the first, give up a pick, and then we decide he's just gonna be a short yardage guy. We just never let him run with it and then we all get pissed that he's underperforming. I'm not Ingram apologist but it's just frustrating to see how this is playing out. We've absolutely and completely misused him in his entire time here.

Well, obviously... But looking at what players have been traded for, I can't see much more than a 6th.

If saints could get any draft pick I hope they trade him and draft Terrence West in 2nd or move up in 3rd....

Seriously, what can we get for him? Is he even worth trading?

If we trade him it might be to move up a couple spots to Cleveland's second pick in the first. I could see it as a win win situation.
