Do the Saints get a 3rd round conditional pick? Did I read that somewhere?

Not guaranteed. Technically no one knows the formula for compensatory picks, but generally it’s: if more FAs leave your team than sign with you, $-wise, then you get picks. Bridgewaters probable high salary would likely result in a 3rd round compensatory selection for 2020 assuming we don’t go out and buy some expensive FAs, yes.

I hope so. Otherwise we will have wasted a #3 for a one year insurance policy that we - fortunately - did not have to cash in. I would like him to stay, but someone is going to sign him as their starter. It only takes one good offer.

If you’re the pats, you get a compensatory pick. If you’re the Saints, then Goodel says f$&k u

Does Roger Goddell have anything to do with the decision? If so, the answer is no.

I think he stays. He’s a smart enough guy to see he’s in place to lead this young team for 10 years after next year. Big Picture is easy to see.

I’m with you. In 1-2 years he can be the guy on a top-4 roster with the 2nd best coach.

Goodell wants the Saints in Mexico City where the population is 21 million.

I don't see the Saints trading a 3rd pick for a 1 yr backup QB. They have to get some kind of compensatory pick and they knew this prior to the trade.
