If we shipped #11 and #32 plus next years first rounder for the browns #1. Do you think this is feasible? And if so would we be giving up too much?

Edit: Do I think the Browns would do it? No, only because they already have so many picks the next couple of years, but it's not that far fetched. Should we? I say go for it. MG is a man amongst boys. Getting a guy like him would help us close out tight games

This team has more than one hole that needs to be filled in this years draft and the best way to do that is with multiple high round picks. We learned our lesson hopefully with trading away a ton of picks for Ricky Williams years ago.

no fricking way we give up 3 first round picks for a single defensive player that hasn't proven anything in the NFL yet

I mean it's hard to get top end talent from the draft when we consistently go 7-9 year in and year out

If you truly think you're getting von miller to compliment a Brees lead offense then it'd be worth it. You'd also need some assurances that Brees would hang around for 3 more years. If he was a DROY candidate this year then you'd likely be picking in the 20s anyway. Cooks + 11 + next year first in 20s is worth 5 years of elite pass rush ( most of it paired with Brees).

If he turns out to be an elite NFL edge talent then it's obviously worth the cost.

If the staff thinks he is a playmaker on defense who can directly affect games on every series, than yes, its not a bad idea. However, I have no confidence our staff can properly evaluate defensive talent.

Scouts are saying he's the safest pick in the draft. I'm just afraid of taking another Stephone Anthony and getting nothing out of it

And he could still be an anthony and you just gave up 3 picks for him.

If Anthony fails...its not near as crippling because you didnt give 3 first for him.

If the Browns would do this, I would be all for it. I don't see an elite pass rusher (Garrett, Thomas, Barnett) making it to 11....So we will have to give up some picks if we address our most important need. We are in Win NOW mode. Let's be honest, once Brees is gone, we will not be a SB contender.

I like Garrett, I hope his motor is better than Clowney. He measures out like Mario Williams as a rookie.

Yep. And that's what you're gambling on. You would then have , the qb and good enough protection around him, and the pass rusher ( plus cam who is pretty damn good as well ).
Your corners would be significantly better by default.

If they went this route I feel like you should try to add a bruiser in udfa Rb and try to pick up a better pass catching Rb to move the chains. You'd be able to shorten games by running way more effectively with a legit pass rush.

It's going to take some gambling/ breaks if we're going to be legit contenders while Brees is here. It all just depends on how elite Garrett is. It would either make you a playoff team for the remainder of Drew's time or cripple you for his remaining years.

Browns already have tons of picks over the next two drafts. I don't see them trading down for more.

I don't like giving up future draft picks so no. Only time I can remember it working out in a teams favor is for the Falcons and Julio Jones.

Side note I just vomited in my mouth a little after typing that.

Not that I would trade that much for him, but just exactly who would you get in the draft that has proven anything in the NFL?

Not worth it on this draft. Too much really good depth.
