...should DA start thinking about playing the 2's more?

Don't get me wrong: I love a good mud-stomping as much as the next guy, but if the game is completely out of hand what's the value of leaving our 1's in for mop-up duty? We could have easily pulled our first stringers out in the 4th of both the Carolina and Dallas games.

Why not reduce injury chances for our 1's and give our 2's a chance to play and get some experience? It would have been extremely valuable for them to get some reps against a reasonably good defense in Dallas, especially.

After all, it's more likely than not that we'll need some of those guys down the stretch for a week or two for injuries and such.

Only a max of 48 players that dress for each game means there are not enough players on the team to have a true 2nd team each week. With the 11 starters on both sides, kicker & punter, plus the fact that you have multiple players that see significant snaps each came at just about every position except oline & QB; you just don't have the bodies. What they have done in the first 2 games is strategically sit key players, aging vets, players with nagging injuries, and/or snap management in these types of games.

Thanks for the clarification. But still, we could put in some of the second-tier players and pull Carr, Kamara, Shaheed and others out (or at least lower their snap count late in the game) more, can't we?

As a Chiefs fan, there are times when I wish Andy would pull Mahomes, Kelce and other starters from the game earlier than he has in the past. Sometimes there's no choice (the game is too close), but the Saints weren't in that position in either of their first two games.

I just don't want to see us get hosed like the Jets, or the Bengals, when their star goes down for the season with an injury - especially if it happens at a point in the game where they don't need to be in.

While this is true. There is no need to give AK more carries when you are up by 3+ scores in the late 3rd or 4th quarters.

Yeah you'll see guys like Tyrann, Demario, Cam and Latt come out if we're up big I think

Snap counts
I suppose they could start doing it a little earlier in the game, but the backups have been getting in there at the end. Haener has played 9.6% of snaps. Your top offensive weapons per snap count are Moreau at 78.4%, Olave at 75.2%, Shaheed at 67.2%, AK at 56.8% and everyone else is under 50%

On defense the only ones that I see that may need to be adjusted is Will Harris at 100% & and Demario is at 83%. If Latt was healthy, I am sure Adebo & Alonte's percentages may be a bit lower, but the fact that he isn't healthy and can't stay healthy tells me the team needs to figure out a way to control their snaps better in late game situations.

I would hope that they would leave Fuaga so he can keep ripping up mother frickers and taking their souls.

You keep saying we and us. But giving perspective as a chiefs fan. Appreciate your concern

Born and raised in Baton Rouge, started pulling for the Saints when there were still only three TV stations (and you had to have an antenna to get them).

Never stopped loving the Saints, but I live in the KC metro now and get to see the Chiefs every Sunday. FWIW I suffered through the years of the Aints with the Saints, as well as the decades of despair with Chiefs fans prior to Andy and Mahomes arriving. I love both teams, and unless they're playing each other I pull for them equally.

That said, when they DO play each other, WHO DAT!

Good enough for you? Or do I have to pull out my Chuck Muncie and Archie Manning trading cards for you?

Speaking of Moreau....

...is anyone else as pleasantly surprised as I am at how well he's playing this year? He was never this good playing for the Raiders which I wouldn't have expected given his performance at LSU. I just never knew if it was the team around him or his inability to adjust to the pros.

Guess it was the former.

He is usually blocking, which is perfect because it forces the defense to trade a speedy DB for a slower LB. And then a couple times a game he fakes a block and grabs dump off.

I watched a video about personnel last night and it make alot of sense of why Taysom is so special. Because he is technically a TE the defense is supposed to counter him with a LB. Well he is faster then LBers so he will run the route, if you counter him with a DB then we will just run it because he is stronger then a DB. .

I’m sort of worried about our fanbase’s expectations now. People are going to start expecting 35-40 ppg now, when that’s just not sustainable. So much can change from week to week in the NFL

I think we are better than we initially thought during the offseason and preseason, but people should be a little more cautiously optimistic about the whole season.
