If Kevin Byard is released, should we?

Titans are going to release him if he doesn’t accept a paycut. Titans are gearing up for a rebuild.
Byard is 29 and is still one of the best safeties in the league. Per Spotrac, the Saints have $17M in cap space. And we know DA loves his 3 safety looks on defense.
So should we?

Byard and Moreau would cap off one of the better free agent classes in YEARS.
I REALLY hope we can pull this off if we pursue.

Hell yes.
Maybe they can get him for cheaper than he would normally fetch at the beginning of free agency. Can't believe the titans even asked him to take a cut.
He is still elite. The kind of safety they should've gone after if they weren't going to re-sign marcus williams.

I definitely would not be opposed! Byard is a solid player.

He makes $14mm per year, not going to happen

Maybe if we didn’t have two aging safeties already. Need to get younger.

In hindsight, it’d be a bad look for the FO who refused to pay MW last year.

I'm a huge MW guy but Byard is better than him.
But we made our bed with Maye/Mathieu and restructured them to ensure at least 3 years on the team for both, so I doubt we can afford Byard.
He's probably going to go to an elite team like the 49ers
