So many people will never understand the black experience because you are not of that shade. I wish words were enough! Just try to listen for a moment. Being quite for a few minutes can be like medicine. While you are quiet open your heart and try to understand what has happened over many years in this country. Open a true book of history, sit down and listen to the older generation of color, visit places that makes you uncomfortable, try something new beyond your own experience and digress and release your mind to understanding.
I was born in Baton Rouge in the 70's and I can still see a burning cross in my yard at the age of 9. Certain people didn't want my family in that neighborhood. Thank God my dad was trained as a paratrooper in the military and served our country well. He didn't take any shite from anyone!!

Not sure how anyone can be so surprised when the league is like 80% black that have strong left leaning views. Brees essentially became the Trump of the NFL with a single interview.

The most maddening part is that few out there do more for their community than Drew. He's a genuinely caring and compassionate person.

"Actions speak louder than words" is lost in today's society.
Words and emotion rule the day.
Someone can be crowned a Saint for a few woke words on Twitter, while someone who actually takes action and does good can be castigated and exiled for one logical thought taken out of context.

It’s all about what’s experienced vs what’s perceived...Drew was asked about the possibility of kneeling during the anthem in a portion of that interview. The reporter decided to post that snippet of the interview and here we are now. It seems like the reporter is using Drew to create a platform.

Seemed to me Drew’s statement was about patriotism not race. The flag represents his country that he loves, that his grandfathers fought for. He respects the flag so why should he protest it. To each is own, right?
