Would you trade next year’s first to AZ for the first pick tonight? Could land a top flight WR or TE, if they bit on it.

But.. if that happens... do we “really” trade 18 first rounders like we did for Davenport?

In all honesty, I wouldn’t mind moving up, but I’m Not trading next years first

No, need to get back to building this team in the draft as some age.

But if we win the SB, we’ve traded a 5th year option for one spot lower than us in the draft, one year earlier.

I wouldn't...

Depending on what Brees does, next year could be a franchise defining draft

We didn't draft Kamara until the 3rd round. So why move up if we actually KNOW how to draft? Just let all the chips fall like they supposed to. Don't overthink it.

I wonder why more teams don't do this?

Agreed.

Perfectly fine with the 2nd or 3rd, but that 1 needs to be untouchable. Too many free agents these next 2 years

Well it is a gamble. If Brees gets hurt and the team tanks, we are fricked. If the team wins the SB, we lost a 5yr option. If this is truly all in and we can land TK, I say frick it.

That is not accurate. we had a first round pick already and traded picks with another team and we still had a first round pick like we originally had,But we had to give something to move up and we gave 1 Future First round pick. so that's all we gave up was one pick not 2 for Davenport..

Yeah. Hypothetically, we move our first next year for their second. AZ is going to be in complete rebuild and what better way to do that than to store future picks with 5th year options?

No WR or TE in this draft is worth a #1

If the saints win the SB, you are talking about the difference between picking a player a year early at 33 vs the 32nd selection and a 5th year option.

Hypothetically, a 1 for 1 trade. Their 2nd (pick 33) for our first next year, whatever that pick may be.
