At least for the time being you want him as happy as he can be because without him, there is a lack of offense altogether and I really don't see it getting better even with a change in coaches or possibly the front office for the remainder of this season and into next

We aren't built for success and an aging and overpriced RB that is thwarting our efforts to fix our cap isn't helping our success, either (unless you define success as getting wore draft picks while still being miles away from contention for a playoff spot).

Seems to me it makes it easier to deal him and actually get something in return, since his contract status is secure. Should we decide to go that route during the offseason

Only problem is nobody is going to want to pay a running back over 30 that much money for a few years. He smartly took the money at his age.
