Not really. It’s not unlike the lakers giving old man Kobe a crazy deal, taking care of your star player attracts future star players. And Kamara is still very good.

It’s smarter to have not done it for sure but I’d also argue that Kamara is aging wonderfully and will be a big boost to the 2025-26 rookie QB

I’m okay with it. 1) We are a small market team and have to take care of players to attract and keep free agents. I remember the 90s when we lost all free agents worth anything and couldn’t get a decent player to sign here. These things transcend dollars sometimes. 2) He’s a fan favorite and you want to reward and keep players like Brees, Cam and Kamara around until they retire. Not everyone, but a few. If this was Madden, sure. But this is real life. 3) Kamara has been incredibly durable and is our best player. I’m okay with paying him over guys we paid like Peat.

And kamaras contract won’t derail that. He has a $10mm cap hit in 2025 which is fine and we can post June 1st him in 2026 and save $11.5mm.

It’s fine guys

Trading him to a good team accomplished this, too

We took a chance on him in the 3rd rd. He’s been here 8 years and has collected $65 mil from us. Is there a current RB who has been with original draft team for longer?

Name a better pass catcher/runner/weapon anyone. Cmac. Barkley? Mixon (having a career year and was still hurt)? Who else? Got Karens rampage. Agreed.

Trying to decide If I want to respond to this. Y’all already think I’m a Kamara hater.

what is it about? dude was veily trashing the standing HC to the media in an interview the other day. Talmbout they have dogs everywhere and the players werent the problem.

Leadership and character are most easily verified when you are losing and he showed he is not Him when he did that.

SFP is right as usual. The chase to be competitive has to end at some point. It only sets back the inevitable.

It wasn’t veiled at all. Nor should it have been, AK is loyal to his locker room. That WAS leadership.

What does it matter, we’re stuck with a bottom 5 qb and paying him 4xs what AK is making

Demario Davis would have never said anything like that. But of course he leads all the time, not just when it is convenient.

and with Kamara, Taysom and Jammal williams, the Saints are one of a few teams still pouring money into RBs. Old RBs at that. It makes no sense. Trading Lattimore was a constructive move. Re-singing Kamara was dumb as frick

I see nothing wrong with this cats performance on the field. And this is as we all know a Loomis hallmark. Hell slo was in on a lot of threads about it earlier. I imagine a majority here would not of made that deal.

Did you watch Sunday? He and Taysom carried the whole offense. If you want to half arse rebuild he is a crucial piece

Oh please. Demario is a captain and talks to the media every week. He’s also a 36 year old pastor. Different people.

It's only a 2 year deal.

This is the least of the problems.

His contract isn't going to matter by the time they get out from under all this dead money.

If you want to rebuild he was the clearest path to clearing cash and cap space

Now you’ve done the opposite. We should be playing geeks off the street at RB
