not saying you weren't a good player or anything, but they recruit pretty much EVERYONE, especially when you said:

Academic All State

i only played football for 1 year (my senior year-- i played basketball from 9 years old til my senior year, when i just decided to give it up and play football, with all my friends...) and i got recruiting letters all the time from Miss. College.... not so much my athletic prowess, but i think because i had a 4.0 GPA and a 29 on the ACT, that was the real reason they were interest in recruiting me as a "football player".... lol

Played MANY years ago on State Runners-up. Fell one point short to Bobby Hebert and the Galliano Officials. So long ago, Bear Bryant signed our QB and spoke ( ok drunkenly mumbled) at our Banquet. Coached for 19 years, with 6 kids making the League.

Being 6' tall OL doesn't get you many offers to bigger schools. I played for the fun of it but Clinton Ms is . I ended moving home and finishing college at UNO.

Balled out on flag football like a boss. CB/WR. So of course, I'm pretty much a badass. Oh, you meant real football? No, I was too lazy and then shattered my hand the one year I was going to play, so earning my spot as a WR would have been a bit tough.

Staring OLB and rotational FB for 2 years (4 year player). 3A school. Co-district champs senior year. 2nd team all-district at LB. Most fun I ever had was playing football. Played baseball for 3 years. Started in the outfield on and off until they realized I was better utilized on the bases but really couldn't hit worth a shite. So pinch runner from there on out and loved it. Never really took baseball seriously. Threw the javelin in track but that was mostly just to go to the track meet.

Played Cornerback, WR and returned kicks in HS for a now 1A school, though it was 2A for most of my high school career. District Defensive MVP and academic all-state. Not good enough to play D1 and had no interest in playing in DII or DIII.

Played in HS, walked on at Northeast back in their 1-AA days and decided that a degree was more likely to support me than a NFL career.

Played center, everywhere on defense but corner and safety, long snapper and punter. It was a 1A high school.
