If you would move up who would take and way?just asking cause it’s getting close to draft

If it’s to use our 1st and 1 of our corps for a guy they really covet, no issue IMO. If it’s going to cost a lot more, I think it’ll be too much because they need to fill some holes and depth over the next few years.

Yes but this year is not a Super Bowl or bust year for us with losing drew and all veteran players we lost no one thinks we’re going to super bowl this year. the time is now to make the move if one of these 5 qb fall past ten

If they feel they can get their QB of the future (i.e. like they felt about Mahomes coming out), by all means, they need to do so.

Yes that’s what I’m thinking totally agree

after we go 1-5 or maybe 2-4 with winston throwing 17 interceptions they will give up trying to make something out of him and then taysom will be our QB for the rest of the year and will do very well
tayson can be a great QB but he needs to learn to read defenses and you cant do that sitting on the bench. he needs a season or two to learn yet most here dont ever want to give him that chance

I get that perspective, but if that player busts, you will be done for years. It would take a Ricky Williams or RG3 type trade to get that high.
But, I also understand that without doing so you are basically rolling your future with Winston. If he turns out great; awesome we have our guy for the next 10 years. If not, you are basically hoping he sucks enough to get us 10+ loses, which should have us around 12 or lower in 2022.

Yeah I like hill but my only problem with that is his age he will be 31 in August

Yeah you made some good points but in sports some time you got to roll the dice and take a chance

I will trust CSP on who wins the job vs your "let him start and learn on the job for a couple of years cause he's better" angle.

You guys are going to be disappointed.
I think Payton is extremely comfortable with both Winston and Hill.
I personally think Winston might light it up this year.

I don't think anyone will disagree that Winston will put up yards and points. There are a lot of people that think we will get the same Winston that had the 40+ TOs in his last year w TB. I agree with you and think he will do well, but can't discount the concern.

But Winston, who can't read defenses worth a shite (see INT problem) is supposed to be our savoir?

quote:Ever think the INT problem could be at least partially due to Arians? Brady had to basically take over the offense because he was having issues with it. Winston had 58 ints his first 4 years in TB compared to 53 for Brees in his first 4 years in SD (on 120 less passes). Maybe he can be fixed, maybe he cannot. Just not sure he should already be looked at as a lost cause.

1st 4 years-
Brees 62.1% comp %, 80 TDs, 53 INTs
Winston 61.6% comp % 88 TDs, 58 INTs

If Jameis was a dumb frick like Lamar Jackson I’d be skeptical it the dude is very intelligent and seems to have matured.
He had more upside imo than any QB in this draft, including Lawrence
