Worst gut punch I've ever had in my entire life watching sports.
I actually know another saints fan who contemplated suicide after Vernon davis walked it in.

Yep. I've said it for years. That was our second super bowl winning team. A knife through our hearts not once but twice in the last 4 minutes of that game after cloud nine type highs after TDs by sproles and graham. What a roller coaster. Painful.

Hey dumbass. We blew the Giants the fack out at home earlier that year. We were 9-0 at home
All year including our rout of Detroit in the playoffs. We would have won.

Bs. The pats had a d that year that could be scored on. The facking Giants beat them man. We woulda out scored the pats. That 2011 offense we had set records.

Saints 2011 Champions forever in our hearts

That offense was so ridiculous. I have no doubt they would've beat up on the Giants. Even players on that team admitted how happy they were they didn't have to go to New Orleans.
Dunno if they win the Super Bowl for sure. But seeing them play in it again only 2 years after winning it would've been amazing, and they would've had a good chance to win it. Would've added to Brees' already amazing legacy.
No loss will ever bother me as much as @SF

If I had to bet on a team had the Saints advanced, I would've taken them. I agree with 99% of your post btw. I just think saints fans get too emotional about that year to actually discuss what if. The Giants pass rush was awesome. JPP became a house hold name over that playoff run. He was a rookie or a one year pro. When it comes to NFL playoffs you can't just say "look to this game here where we won, we would've won again". It is possible they lose. The Saints lost by ten to rookie Sam Bradford. Crazy things happen. I bet y'all didn't give a rats arse about facing a 7-9 Seattle team that you dusted the previous year in the regular season? I'm not even a Giants fan

The patriots were just a worse version of us that year, and we had already steamrolled the Giants at home.
The only way that 2011 team was losing was the way we did - losing the turnover battle horrifically on the road against a good defense.
Still makes me sick.

I didn't feel good at all about the Seattle game. NO was so banged up at RB they were using scrubs off the streets like Julius Jones. Seattle was playing with house money and had nothing to lose. 2010 team wasn't going very far regardless. They weren't a Super Bowl caliber team that year and Brees was playing hurt.
