Alright looks like we won't have to draft a safety until later in the draft now

If we pull this off, we might have actually upgraded at safety assuming maye is healthy

Ive seen him out in New Orleans plenty of times throughout his career. Dont think this means anything.

I'm not trying to be that guy but he did meet with the saints informally this weekend.

Williams and Mathieu don't even really play the same position. One is a true center fielder and the other a box disruptor.

I want TM on the Saints as bad as anyone but it seems like he’s got a number in his head that nobody is biting on. I’m guessing he wants $13-16 million a year for 3-4 years making him a top 5 paid type safety but him being 29 doesn’t help his cause. The Saints have never really been in the business of paying safeties top dollar which is why I still to this day don’t understand why they didn’t pay Vonn Bell what Cincy got him for but paid an aging Malcolm Jenkins in the same ballpark as Bell. Maye will fill one of the full time safety roles but Dennis Allen loves playing 3 safety looks in his defense so don’t be shocked if they draft safety high this year to go with Maye and CGJ so you aren’t relying on PJ Williams to have to play starter level snaps.

We better sign a safety, o.t. and w.o. in free agency or we will go into the draft reaching for those positions. Most years we did sign players in free agency so we didn’t have to reach.
It’s getting late in the cycle now, please Dennis let’s get this thing going.

A healthy Maye and a hungry badger?
Lattimore, Adebo. PJ, Roby and CGJ?

I don't need B&G glasses to see that is a great lineup for a secondary.

I think the consensus is the drop off from Williams to Maye won’t be as big as the upgrade from Jenkins to Matthieu. Would definitely be interesting to see how Maye is used in the defense & if he can stay healthy

It will make zero sense. They wouldve just paid Williams who is a perfect fit in da's defense.

I think they will draft a safety early in the 2nd or 3rd round.
