Is he still around?
Posted on 5/21/17 at 3:28 pm to Patrick O Rly
Some one said he was unbanned on the PT but I think he is a alter at this point. Who knows.

I'm not stubborn at all. I'm just a realist. You can't call me stubborn just because you don't agree with me.
Look, my eyes tell me vaccaro lacks ball skills. The stats back that up.
You gonna sit here and say he has ball skills too?

I call you stubborn because you're stubborn.
Now in regards to Vaccaro ball skills, his issue is more with being in position to make a play on the ball. He's not a ball hawk by any stretch of the imagination, but he doesn't have terrible hands.
Then again it depends on what you mean by ball skills. If you're lumping in the ability to get into position to intercept the ball, then yeah he doesn't have good ball skills. He's more or less stingy in coverage and a sure tackler.
Then again the way he plays his opportunities are going to be limited regardless because he's typically covering high percentage routes, and thus less time the ball is in the air.

It's funny you talk down to Shel on the MSB for using exclamation points when he's being sarcastic towards another poster but you've done it a few times in this thread alone.
You're only good for gotcha posts anymore LE. Gettin' old.

Nah I just make fun of him because he does it every post. It has its use in the message board community. It's just not something I use as a crutch. My facts and well supported opinions are enough. If it makes you upset don't read it

The Saints are tied for 3rd to last in Ints in both the 2015 and 2016 seasons. I wouldn't blame Vacarro on that. Sure it'd be nice to have Earl Thomas or Eric Berry but it also helps to have a solidified DC there to utilize those players.

I get comedic value not anger out of your hypocrisy.

KV ball skills are probably avg to slightly above avg for a strong safety. He's never had that dynamic FS to help compliment him and neither a secondary worth a shite that was 4-5 deep and healthy. KV is a staple to our D we need to keep around. Well liked and has stayed fairly clean aside from the suspension .

Spoken like someone on the wrong side of one too many of my debates, ducky

You guys watch a lot more Saints games than me. I just know the system you guys run seems to change every year or two.
KV is unfairly judged by that imo. He's fantastic at what he's been asked to do, but as other have said it leaves more to be desired if you're going to pay him what he MIGHT be worth. KV can earn himself a lot coin this year if things go right in New Orleans.

Kkinda odd cuz I find myself agreeing with you on sports outside of Blazers, Pels, and apparently Saints related topics

I feel like there is an unfair assumption here that we played 3 safeties out of need instead of for scheme last year. It looks like it is becoming a huge thing in the NFL. It is said most teams are using Nickel 60+% of the time. Some of the teams get lucky to get a WLB who can stay on the field and that can make plays against the pass and not be a liability on the run: Deone Buchanon, Jatavis Brown, Telvin Smith, Sean Lee, Mychal Kendricks, Lavonte David, Thomas Davis. Other teams have been using safeties at that spot on 2nd and 3rd downs at a pretty high rate. Having a corner on the field against a team that likes to spread you out and then run can be a problem. This problem has been resolved by using a safety/lb hybrid. We have a really good one and that hasn't been highlighted due to the poor play of the defense overall. If we are in win-now mode, trying to replace him at this point would be ill-advised. The price isn't overwhelming and scheme-wise he is worth it.

Hey I still like ya ducky. Shel too. He used to bring the heat & I know it's still in him. Hopefully this passive aggressive!!!!!!!! Shel phases out

It's definitely become popular. The Saints have been doing it since 2013. Member they added Rafael Bush and he played quite well in a similar role as our 3rd S with Jenkins and Vaccaro.. Which gives me hope we could find a replacement should be let Vaccaro walk. That simply isnt a money position and with the way we've invested at S in the draft I just think it would be silly to label Vaccaro a must keep

Eric berry is much better
Berry: 16 gp- 77 tackles, 0 sacks, 4 int, 1 ff, 9 pd
Vaccaro: 11 gp- 68 tackles, 1 sack, 2 int, 2 ff, 5 pd
Dont let Berry's 1 game vs Atlanta fool you
Posted on 5/21/17 at 5:16 pm to TPecoraro23
Berry has as many defensive TDs as Vaccaro has INT's in his career

I hope if we let him go that you are right. Second thing we've disagreed on today, but you've definitely got valid points. I just think Kenny will look like a brighter star once he gets some more working parts around him. We've had issues with lining up right and assignments that it almost becomes too difficult to assign blame at times. Glad the offense is seemingly trying to control the ball more to let them grow and gain confidence.

Vaccaro and Bell are great at run defense. I hope Williams can be the Knight or Sharper that secondary been missing last few years. I want Kenny resign for 4 yr deal.
