As the draft is tomorrow, it's time to look back and grade the all-time greatest Saint by round. Pick one from each round.

1st round choices, pick one:

Willie Roaf (1993)

2nd round choices, pick one:

Rickey Jackson (1981)
Michael Thomas (2016) Hoping I change my mind in a few years....

3rd round choices, pick one:

Pat Swilling (also 1986)

[b]Jimmy Graham (2010) - Could have been if he was willing to keep the salary in line with his position

4th round choices, pick one:

Morten Andersen (1982)

[b]Jahri Evans
(2006)-Again real tough here. I have to ask myself--Both are HOF players...Andersen was the Saints offense for most of the 80s...Did it matter much overall? Not really. Evans was a steady building block of an OL that actually won a ton of games and brought back the Lombardi

I chose Evans....

5th round choices, pick one:

Carl Nicks (2008)
Thomas Morestead (2009---Again no alight to Morstead but I have to think if he is not punting what do we lose 3-4 yards on average and maybe 4-5 kicks inside the 20 a season...Nicks again was a building block that protected Brees up the middle. Along with Evans they allowed to shop the market for Centers and where a huge part of a top ranked offense for several years.

I go with Nicks.

6th round choices, pick one:

Fred McAfee (1991)

7th round choices, pick one:

Marques Colston (2006) Colston may be a top 10 7th round pick for the whole NFL.

I know the NFL has few guys in the HOF that were never drafted and they have a few that were 17th round picks but that was long before the days of scouting and advanced film and info gathering. Find me some other guys that have produced to that level at any position in say the last 20 years.

I would.

Archie is proof, you need a line more than a QB.

I'd also take Morten Anderson in the 4th again in a heartbeat- he gave us a decade of having the best kicker in the league. That gave the team the motivation to build a strong special teams, and likely helped recruit the best special teams coaches and players.

Colston vs Martin in the 7th; that's a no-lose situation. Martin's numbers were less, but he had Hebert instead of Brees throwing him the ball.

Do we still win the super bowl without Reggie and Porter??

Because if no im taking them 100/100 times. The rest of everybody's pretty much meaningless but more statistically impressive careers be damned.
