This. Crazy the amount of meh Hendrickson gets on here while being statistically a top tier NFL pass rusher.

Gonna be tough to pay him what the market will bear for one year of production. He is likely a luxury we cannot afford at this point.

If Cam and Davenport lost weight they’d probably do the same

So losing weight is the key to being an effective DE? What is the exact weight that they need to be at to reach optimal performance?

as well as more durable than Davenport... if it were me, I'd keep Hendrickson, ship Davenport, b/c you can still get good value for him, and sure when he's healthy, he's a good player, but the problem is he's seemingly always sidelined for something...

I can see it now, we bank on Davenport, let Hendrickson walk, then Davenport is out for a few weeks with some injury, as he is all too often, and our pass rush has a pretty noticeable drop off...

you also have to consider Jordan is getting up there.... keeping Hendrickson in house as his replacement in a few years would be great for us...

Not a contract year, but Vic Beasley leading the league in sacks with 18 and then falling off a cliff should worry everyone about one year wonders. And he hasn't been the only one to have done that.

Wtf? Not counting his first game his rookie year since he was inactive, Hendrickson had missed 17 games his first 3 years.

Davenport (counting tomorrow) will have missed 11 in his first 3 years.

So say what now?

Trading up and Picking davenport over Calvin ridley was a huge mistake especially when we needed another wr.. davenport is not good.

You need to watch Davenport instead of making outlandish claims. Not everything he does shows up on the stat sheet but he plays a big part of our defensive success.

I watch him every game. Hendrickson is more productive when given playing time and that has been the case since davenport was drafted

Do you remember last year in the playoffs when cook ran all over us? They were running right at Hendrickson. That doesn’t happen if Davenport is healthy. I like Hendrickson and he is having a great year but Davenport is much better player than people give him credit for. His biggest problem is his injury history. On the other hand, someone is going to sign Hendrickson to a big contract next year and I have a hard time believing that he will live up to it. Our team has a lot of good pass rushers so it is difficult for teams to scheme for our dline.

Jesus. Why are there so many stupid people on here. Davenport is legit doubled teamed over Cam because he can be so dominant. Is Ridley much better or any better than Sanders. I’d beg to differ.

Main point i was making is ridley>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>davenport. And the rams showed us in the playoffs and the last couple games of the year that if you shut michael thomas down our offense was average at best that year.

How so? Hendrickson has barely played at all in his career. What are you talking about? Hendrickson has had a very nice year. He did absolutely nothing to speak or the previous 3 years we’ve had him besides get mauled in the running game.

Fair enough! I still like Davenport but Ridley is emerging as an elite receiver. there is no denying that killed our offense last year. Should be better off this year with sanders in the mix though.

Look for a huge game today from Henrickson with Davenport out

I think Ridley is pretty good but an elite level wr he is not. The guy hasn’t even had a 1k yard season. He’s a an elite level #2 but he wouldn’t be a wr1 on most teams.

Which is exactly what the saints needed in that draft

I think he is emerging. He ain’t there yet but I think he has the potential. He started out on absolute fire this year but then got banged up and hasn’t been as lethal. Injuries have hindered him thus far in his career

The thing you obviously don’t realize is teams don’t draft base off of need that early if ever. Passrusher was actually a major need on the other side of Jordan. So what you’re saying isn’t actually true. The Saints def could of used another wr the previous 2 years but they also needed a passrusher. Snd Hendrickson wasnt very good nor was he healthy to even be having this conversation. I never like giving up picks to draft guys but I’d much rather them do that then sit still hoping a guy they like falls to them.

No if a mistake was made on passing on Davenport, it was the guy GB took. Jaire Alexander. He was the guy I was hoping we would draft. He will be all pro soon enough.

Davenport has the ability to get to that level, if he would stay healthy. Remember, he played at a very small school, so it was going to take a few years for him to develop.

Yep that was supposed to be our missing link that brought our defense to the next level. I remember watching Bradley Chubb fall a little and wondering if we were going to try to trade up to get him. Good thing we didn’t.
