Before the draft he was the next Gayle Sayers. No organization in their right mind would pass on him.

RB is considered one of the least valuable positions in the sport. They have the shortest shelf life, and they’re a dime a dozen anyway. QBs, pass catchers, and linemen are considered more important and higher priority. Thus, the Mario Williams pick was for a more important position than RB.

We draft Mario Williams and this team never wins a SB.

You don't pass on a once in a lifetime generation type talent.

Without Reggie, the Saints offense is nowhere near what it would have been. He opened up the passing game.

I remember watching a lot of clips where Bush was used as a decoy. For example, they would fake a pitch left to Bush and a bunch of defense players went for it leaving something else wide open for Brees. The defense followed him because if he got a step on them then they were in trouble.

Bush wasn't a bust and he wasn't a great player. But I do think he was an extremely valuable role player that went at least a little beyond just his stats.

Bush missed 20 games during his tenure here, we won 65% of those games. Thats an 11 win team in the 17 game format. We would’ve been fine without him
