Guys I figured it out, it was the collars.

2012 introduced the new collars signaling the downfall of the Saints' elite run. We bounce back in 2013 but the collars quickly smite us down starting in 2014 keeping us down for the next 3 years.
Cue 2017. New collars are released and you can feel the new energy in the team. The remnants of the previous 5 years linger as we go 0-2, but, the new collars take hold leading us to 6 straight wins, the longest streak since 2011, pre-death collar era.

I hated the old collars so much. Was finally relieved when we announced these filled in ones. It's a small but integral part of our success this season for sure

I figured this shite out years ago. Get on my level. It was also the lightening of our gold to that tan bullshite.

I think this is actually more egregious than the collars. if they fixed the gold I could deal with the old ones. I absolutely hate the "gold" pants now.

Replacing those guys was probably the biggest reason for the improvement on defense. SP doesn't like turnover in his ranks, so firing those guys was a big deal.
