Misses the saints by two spots (if we put a claim in for him)

Knowing the Saints, we probably didn't. I know the majority of us wanted him, but our front office probably doesn't want to mess up what we currently have in the locker room.

Its funny that no matter how much evidence there is that the Saints feel they are in no way desperate for a #2 WR many posters insist we are desperate for a WR.

Is the fact 27 teams passed on him surprising? Up vote for Yes; down vote for NO.

Not surprising. He hasn’t been good in six years. Not worth the drama. So overhyped

Came out today that the Patriots weren't too big on his work ethic. So..........whatever.

if I was a bottom dweller team and his contract value could play into the comp pick formula I am not sure why I wouldn't have thrown my name in the hat for him off that alone

also I watched some Patriot games and he still passes the eye test as a potential no.2 or no.3 WR if he has the right players around him

you dont have to play him if you claim him so if your goal was tank just bench him and hold him out for the year...or if you are trying to develop a QB like say the Jets are why not give Darnold another weapon. Gordon would arguably be their best WR for the remainder of the season

Good point

What’s the reason behind Pats cutting him?

He's had substance abuse and behavioral issues at every single school and team that he's played for. I have been hoping for this guy to turn his career around for some time, but it's just not worth the effort for the Saints to be a part of that.

Our locker room is solid. The team is 7-1 with the roster as is. Jared Cook, Alvin Kamara, and Tre-Quan Smith are all due back from injury within the week, and the Saints are close to the cap. Why bring in a guy who is well past his prime and at best might be a mediocre addition, and at worst a distraction?

The Saints really don’t need another receiver. Without Kamara, Smith, Cook and Brees, they shredded a very good Chicago defense. Those guys returning gives them plenty of offense with the defense playing at a very high level. I’m glad they didn’t mortgage the future for a guy who might have made minimal impact.

in this one special case, we are better staying pat then bringing gordon in, he would be a downgrade over the #3 and #4 WR we already have

that in no way implies we dont still desperately need a serious #2 WR threat and will likely have trouble getting the #1 or #2 NFC seed because of it

im not even 100% sure AJ Green is worth bringing in only in that im scared by his history of injury

its pretty much etched in stone we will stay pat and suffer because of payton confidence in our routinely and consistently under performing mediocre WR corps

Really surprised he was passed by so many teams. Guessing this was more of a block by Carroll to keep him from going to the Rams or Saints.

Ridiculous. With a worse receiving core last year, this team was one bad officiating no call from the Super Bowl. Stop whining.

Carroll a pretty solid players coach/mentor and they have a great Qb in Wilson. Honestly probably best spot for the guy to have a future in the league.
