I expect to be outbid for his services, but Payton always speaks very highly of him. Had we not already signed Brown and were still in need of a DT I think we do what we'd have to. But already having Brown and needing to commit to Rankins soon, unless he comes at a discount I don't see it.
Our best shot would be if he wants a one year deal with a shot at a ring, and we throw some dummy years on it. If he only wants a long term deal I just don't see it.

Yeah Brees seems to really think highly of him as well. Or at least that's what I notice during the pre/post game handshakes. Would love to have him but I'm sure some team like Cleveland or LA will outbid us for him.

He and Brees workout together in the offseason and are good friends. I would be very surprised if he doesn’t end up with the Saints. The Saints are carrying a good bit of cap space for a reason.
