Seeing talk on Twitter that the Saints might be trading Taysom to Denver for a 3rd rounder.

Would be a bigger melt than the payton trade.

Doubt that is true.

Simple logic -

Multiple coaches get fired every year
The pressure on owners & GMs increase each year.
The money increases each year.
It’s an arms race.
SP will almost definitely be the only SB winning coach on the market next year.
He’s viewed as the safest hire.

Which part of my logic do you disagree with DGB?

You’re speaking in a vacuum with no context and total speculation.

It’s foolish to predict who will be fired or resign or anything this far out.

Non-Saints fans that I know are laughing at the Broncos for continuing to give away all of their draft picks and don’t seem to think Saints got shafted at all

Reports from just days ago were indicating that Payton was just going to stick with TV, but instead we ended up with a 1st round pick and flipped a 3rd into a 2nd. I was hoping for more, or atleast a better 1st than #29 but anything we got for Payton is better than him just truly retiring or atleast riding out his contract as an analyst

Your “point” is that we should value a 3rd round pick more than other teams because we struck gold 6 years ago and drafted some other solid role players over the years.

Solid role players? More like valuable starters bro. We are more successful in the third round than most teams. Than the average NFL team.

In the past 10 years, we have drafted like 3 all pros and 2 very good starters. Your only retort is that 2017 was too good and shouldn't be used. That's a weak refutal at best.

That’s not good enough to potentially sabotage a deal for a useless asset in Payton that nets 2 indisputably better draft picks.

You can't tell me that a desperate Broncos team would've settled for less than a 3rd. Not with Mickeys weak arse doing the dealing. A competent trading GM would have done better, unless you think Mickey is good at trading.

No, I am not.

2018 6 coaches fired
2019 5 coaches fired
2020 7 coaches fired
2021 6 coaches fired
2022 5 coaches fired.

I am using recent history & facts.

You have said nothing to support your argument.

And? We passed on a super bowl winng coach last year to hire a guy who will most likely will have never had a winning season in half a decade of coaching. Let that sink in.

Sh!t happens.

31 teams passed on Brock Purdy. All the way down to the very last pick.

Tell me the brain trust of the nfl knows what they are doing.

DA was already here & a very successful DC for us.

Plus Payton probably recommended DA knowing he would fail.

Plus that coach DID get hired. If that coach didn’t get hired then you would have a valid point.

Bad example.
