Saints talk tells me Carr is a top tier QB when protected.

Maybe we should extend him for eternity.

Saints talk also told me we’d make the playoffs last year. And the year before.

Proximo even lost a 1k bet when I said the last 2 years the roster sucked dick and we should purge.

Carr fricking sucks. He wouldn’t start for LSU right now, much less a professional team.

Anyone that thinks he’s even moderate is an idiot.

Let’s see if Kellen Moore wants fans in the stands or not…. He’ll have none with Carrbage.

Trade him to the Jets b/c it's the Jets. Pre June 1. Eat the money this year and free up 40 million for 2026. We need to clear cap now.

Trade him

Doubtful that will happen. Saints will have to cut him or give a high draft pick to take him.

This is beyond stupid.

This is the problem. People have no mental capacity to rate QB play between “fricking sucks” and “top tier”.

Unfortunately we gave him a no trade clause. He didn’t waive it for the Raiders, he’s not going to waive it for us. He’ll want to be a free agent and negotiate a new deal.

I want them to cut Carr and make other deep cuts to crawl out of the hole as much as possible. I don’t think ownership has the stomach to take their medicine, but they are going to be bad either way next year. Rip the band aid off and be really, really bad for at least one season.

Kinda true but also kinda not true.

Yes they will have to restructure a lot of other guys if they cut Carr but he would be designated as a post June 1 cut and thus his 35mil ish savings would come after they have gotten under the cap. Granted most of that money would go to resigning players they had to no resign to get under the cap but it's doable, and if they did take that route 2026 would look much better.

No way around the fact that this will be a multi year reorganization and will require patience on everyone's part.

The fact that Moose is signin on tells me he is confident the management is onboard with resetting.

I know but Loomis will Loomis yadda, yadda..

Screw that. You broke it, you bought it (paid too much for old, broken down players if you don't get the analogy-talking to Saints fans after all)

Until he doesn’t actually pull his bullshite he has earned absolutely zero benefit of the doubt.

The implied fanhood flex that some on this board have for “having patience with Loomis” is one of the more annoying things here. 32/32 fanbases would be calling for that smug jerk off’s head after his management of the last few years.

We need to find 54M just to get under the cap.

We can’t simply cut Carr.

I can’t wait until Loomis does this and the face painters excited about the cap space in 27 watch it vanish for moves like this we have to make.

We either have to restructure Carr or these guys, which is why people keep bringing up how many years it will take to unwind this stuff.

God extending Kamara was so fricking dumb.

It made zero sense. We could draft an entirely new running back room for a fraction of what we’re paying him during a time period where we’re having to overhaul anyway. Just a self inflicted wound.

I just choose to not be a whining bitch about it.

I accept that I'm a fan and have no control over the team decisions. I also realize that there are enough people on this site posting the same whinny posts over and over again so me contributing to that nonsense make little to no sense.

For 2025 Loomis will be the GM. He'll hire the coach, He and the staff will make decisions about the roster, draft and cap situation. And a lot of fans here will piss and moan about it. Such is life.....

Whining about Loomis or whining about the whiners is still whining

This is win now league. Coaches have no guarantees for the next season so a coach will keep the QB who gives the best chance to win. Coaches have been fired after one season . Doubt Gayle would do this but no coach takes that chance. If he thinks the cap space brings in more solid players and they can get an Andy Dalton / Teddy B type for a year or two , maybe but no coach will stake his future on a young Spencer Rattler. Rattler has potential down the road.

Is it even possible without Carr?

If so, the Saints should offer Carr a few guaranteed million to adjust his contract to league minimum with the promise that he will be a June 1 cap hit.

If not, then I don't know how you convince Carr to go along with a restructure that doesn't give him significantly more money.

You don’t. I think it’s pretty clear Carr knows what he is and is just sacking away the most money he can for his family at this point. He’s not looking to manipulate his numbers to field a more competitive team around him and I don’t blame him. I’d 110% do the same thing.

Despite what happened with the Raiders, he could still agree to waive a no trade clause. A team that Carr likes that wants him and agrees to renegotiate his contract is still worth exploring.

If we paid say half his salary in a trade 25 mil.
Would we eat 50 mil this year but save 70 mil the next two years? Or there abouts.
