It’d be the best decision the Saints ever made.

Ben Johnson can pick his job. He ain’t boarding the Titanic for a ride down to the bottom of the Atlantic. Come on, get realistic.

Unfortunately Ben Johnson will be everyone’s number 1 candidate in the off-season and he’ll have his pick of the litter.

Not sure why he’d want to come here

Because we’ll have a top ten pick at qb to groom with all the other weapons we already have. The guy just needs to score a TD a game and he’ll be better than what we had last two years.

I love this reasoning. Out of all the jobs that will be available: Commanders, Bears, Raiders, how many of those have actually had sustainable success with their current front office and owner? All 3 have been dumpster fires for a while. At least the Saints have had some recent success and made the playoffs. I don’t really see any other coach getting fired this year other than maybe KOC.

If the Saints picked in the top 10 this year, which is possible, I don’t see how they wouldn’t be a top choice. The only knock is the cap space. But if we gave him a top QB in the draft like Sanders, he’d be in a better position to succeed more quickly given the talent on offense and defense. The Bears, even with Caleb Williams, would take a while. Same with the Raiders. The only roster he might take over ours would be the Commanders.

Robert Leroy Johnson (May 8, 1911 – August 16, 1938) was an American blues musician and songwriter. His landmark recordings in 1936 and 1937 display a combination of singing, guitar skills, and songwriting talent that has influenced later generations of musicians. Although his recording career spanned only seven months, he is recognized as a master of the blues, particularly the Delta blues style, and one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame describes him as maybe "the first ever rock star".

I doubt Gale will fire any of the coaches, regardless of what happens. What is more likely is Pete becomes the assistant head coach and DA hires another Oakland retread like Greg Olson to run the offense.
