The Cowboys have lost some veteran depth on their offensive line.

Charles Brown, who served as the Cowboys’ third tackle last season, had decided to retire.

The 29-year-old Brown was the a second-round pick of the Saints in 2010 out of USC. He spent four seasons in New Orleans and then had short stays with the Giants and Jets before signing with the Cowboys last season.

Brown, who played just 21 offensive snaps and 51 special teams snaps last season, was no lock to make the Cowboys’ roster, which may have played a role in his decision to retire.

The Cowboys also waived rookie tackle David Hedelin and signed offensive tackles Cameron Bradfield and Darryl Baldwin.

The dude was like a 3rd string QB. Not too many 6 year veterans that can have their stats totaled by Snaps Played.

He prolly dint make as much per snap last year...
$701, 176 /72 snaps= $9738.56 per snap.

"Retiring" = knowing you're not making the team and being proactive

Monday morning drafters 6 years later, priceless. Oh yes, we all wanted that guy that went 91st who ended up a stud. That was all of our guy that year.... oh shuckie duckie... but lets not mention we nabbed jimmy graham 4 picks after bowman...

and lots not mention the brilliant team that drafted bowman in the 3rd drafted taylor mays in the 2nd who was a bigger bust than charles brown.

What's the definition of Lestering?

Always finding new places and ways to say "I told you so"?

As awesome as Armstead has been these years, I honestly believe that had we started Brown in Carolina in 2013, we win that game and the division.

A few weeks prior, in New Orleans, Brown dominated Greg Hardy and we blew the Panthers out. Then the week of the Carolina game, Payton pulled Brown and started Armstead and he had some rookie struggles against Hardy (3 sacks).

Anyway, Brown wasn't near the player that Armstead is, I just still wonder why Payton pulled him prior to such a big game.
