Tweeted out that he expects there to be a press conference this week for Payton unless if Harbaugh changes his mind. He deleted the tweet within 10 minutes of sending it out.

Not sure how tuned the guy is, but there's hope.

Supposedly the broncos already said no to him, but at this point everyone is turning them down so they'd probably hire Jim Mora jr. Congratulations Payton, your arrogance has put you at this level. Go take a knee with Brees

The #Broncos could end up hiring #Saints coach Sean Payton or #Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh, according to @RapSheet on the @PatMcAfeeShow

Might give some credence to Goodman’s deleted tweet. He’s clearly got some info since Rap came out and said it’s between Harbaugh and Payton. Then of course Payton himself said we’d know a lot more this week. Harbaugh and Broncos already met without a deal coming together. But there’s still a lot of smoke around khakis.

Guess what else? NSD is tomorrow. I could see Harbaugh waiting to announce he’s leaving until a day or so after to not hurt the program. Either that or he lets the Broncos know after NSD he plans to stay so they move quickly to get Payton locked in.

Didn't he already publicly state that he was staying at Michigan?

Well

quote:

DAVIE, Fla. -- Nick Saban says he doesn't browse the Internet, never sends e-mails or surfs from site to site.

He might have to start soon, if only to follow the persistent rumors about him and his future.

A story posted on NFL.com this week said Alabama "keeps on making runs at Saban" in an effort to persuade the Miami Dolphins coach to return to college and take over in Tuscaloosa for fired Mike Shula. The same story even said an unnamed NFL head coach said Saban is getting closer to joining the Crimson Tide.

So on Thursday, Saban -- who has tried to denounce the story about him potentially going to Alabama numerous times in recent weeks -- again, and adamantly, denied that he's headed back to the college ranks.

"I guess I have to say it," Saban said. "I'm not going to be the Alabama coach."

Aren't you allowed to go elsewhere if your coach leaves after you sign?

Sure but you're more likely to retain guys who have actually signed than to have news like this torpedo signing day itself. That said, most power schools have signed the bulk of their classes early already.
