so if his arm is not elite how can you say that all of his physical tools are great.
sorry, havent read the thread after this, just wanted to respond.

If he had the same exact physical tools and skillset he does now, but just 3-4 more inches, he'd be a prototypical QB. He does have a strong arm, it's not a rocket, but it's strong. The only "tool" he has that isn't above NFL average is height IMO

On what are you basing the "better arm" assesment with regard to those two guys? I really haven't seen it. Definitely nothing glaring.

watching games, womments of receivers, combine scouting reports, popular perception, informal polls, etc.

While not amazingly cerebral guys Cutler and Stafford have cannons.

well sure but the question asked what NFL QB have elite athletic ability...

Vince Young and Vick ARE NFL Quarterbacks by definition. Romo is a great athlete but by no means elite.

i thought the question was if you take height out of the equation are any QB's clearly better than Brees in purely physical attributes. My answer is of course, and virtually the entire NFL, press, etc agrees.

that's not saying Brees is some weak armed sloth, he's not.

He beat Andy Roddick in tennis. He's barely 6 foot and can dunk a basketball. He homers from both sides of the plate in charity softball games.

He's a great athlete.

He recently shot a 63 at the NOCC as well. Only two shots of the course record.

Uhh you stated Brees does not possess "elite" (I just realized how obsessed you are with that word) athleticism, a number of people refuted this assumption with tangible, non-football related accomplishments of the athletic variety in Brees' life.

You then launched into a tangential comparison of Brees vs other NFL QBs that didn't really address the original argument and was based on the womments of recievers, informal polls, popular perception (haha), dust in the atmosphere, the plots of the freemasons, etc etc

Brees' non football athletic accomplishments trump any QB currently playing in the NFL. Period. Find me non-subjective evidence to the contrary and I will gladly apologize.

no, you refuted me throwing out incorrect numbers (that i kindly corrected for you) and stories of Brees dunking in football pads.

what are you even talking about?

Brees' football mind is off the charts. His physical attributes are above average, with some other QBs certainly being better in that regard even when height is taken out. Some of these same guys are also morons, so Brees is a much better QB.

Just imagine what kind of score he might have posted if God had blessed him with anything close to the athletic ability of Jay Cutler.

Brees is so athletic he refuses to use all his arm strength for fear of hurting WRs.
