DAT really improved on his 40 at his pro day. Everyone bailed on him after the combine because of his slow 40.. then he was stupid fast at his pro day (4.33 and 4.37).
I would honestly take either.. I know Archer is faster but DAT is more polished when it comes to actually playing the game and, even though it is kind of insulting, we really are sort of like the Oregon of the NFL.. I think he would fit in really well on our team.
But Archer is just a ridiculous athlete so I'd take either and be happy

I think Archer is the more complete player. Don't know if he'll be available beyond round 2.

cant coach what deanthony thomas has but im just scared itll be Reggie Bush situation and his game wont translate well.

DAT is definitely a great talent, but I think people are really overselling his ability in the NFL. Guy is tiny and injury prone because of his lack of size.
I think people want to imagine him in a Sproles/Bush role, but both were significantly stronger than DAT, and if you breath on DAT he'll fall to the ground.
Dynamic player? Yes, but limited. Honestly, I am not sure if Archer would have the same issues
Sproles was 5'6, but weighed nearly 190 lbs. Archer is 5'8 and 175 lb. DAT is also taller (5'10) yet weighs the same.

I believe it depends on what they want in a guy like them. Dri is more of a rb and DAT is more of a wr. Both can be used in the return game but it is are the saints looking for a guy to be able to run between the tackles or a edge guy that can line up at the slot. like i said both are the same now which one can catch the ball efficiently

I don't know how Archer is in the return game, but DAT is one of the most electric returners I've ever seen. Honestly, that alone would warrant him a 5th round pick for me.
