The Saints future QB is a top draft pick playing in college right now.

Could be a potentially lucrative start for McCown. If he wins the game (or games depending on how long Brees is out), he could parlay this into even more Verizon commercials. Here's his chance to shine!

I guess the upside is the newer fans among us will finally get a taste of what it was like to be a fan pre-2006... which may be medicine that is sorely needed on this board.

Must be why Aaron Rodgers turned out to be a shite QB

Start McCown. If he's playing like shite, go to GG

I don't think you should play Grayson. He would literally be fed to wolves with zero preparation for the moment. If Grayson were to play it should be much later in the season if Drew were to have setbacks recovering or with reinjury. Week 3 at Carolina is not the place you christen a 3rd string Rookie QB that is considered to be "raw".

Wait if McCown starts does that mean he will lose his Verizon spot?

I guess they will have to start the kid so it does not mess up McCown side deal

Well i agree, but if McCown isn't getting the job done and we have a chance at victory, you gotta go for the W

Defense and Running game need to show up like last year @Carolina

Has he received any actual game prep this week? Or was Drew still preparing for the start this week?

I believe Brees hasn't thrown a pass this week. Not sure what that means for their game prep though as he was listed as limited

If McCown goes out and throws picks and can't complete a pass, then sure we'll probably see Grayson. But starting him over McCown would be a mistake. He's still a rookie. He was brought in as a project, so throwing him into the fire may not be the best idea. You can really ruin a potentially good QB if you throw someone in there too fast.

He didn't throw a pass because he has a slight tear in his roatator cuff...

Or just a bruised one as reported and confirmed by multiple sources, including Dr. James Andrews. But your source is better

Let's see how this plays out, buddy.

Ban bet he doesn't play next week either?

Why would I ban bet for something that could happen with a badly bruised shoulder on a throwing arm?

Also, you're not SirWinston, i tend to like your posts. I don't see it as a win either way.

All I'm saying is that claiming a source with no indications of who that source is doesn't stand up to the other reports.

Fair enough. He won't play for at least the next 4 games, unfortunately. If the shoulder responds to therapy, he may be able to give it a go.

Lack of velocity is a telltale sign that there is a tear, FYI.

Brees tried to throw this morning. Velocity wasn't there. The decision was easy

I don't know but if this is true unlikely he'll be healthy enough in a week.

I mean I've talked to an orthopedic surgeon who is one of my closest friends and a Saints fan. He said no reason to think it is anything more than a bruise at this point. The 2nd opinion thing didn't make much sense in regards to the MRI.

The symptoms would be similar too.

I don't think he would have thrown this morning if there was a partial tear. The risk of further injuring it would be too high.
