Thank you for serving us in Virginia.

This irritates the shite out of me. There is and always will be inequality and kneeling before, during or after the national anthem won't change that. There is more opportunity for non-whites to succeed in America than anywhere else. Hell...the system is rigged to make it easier for blacks to succeed than whites.
And how did this morph from cops purposely hunting down and killing black men to the world just ain't fair for blacks?

Go ahead and kneel before the anthem if that makes Brees feel better. Guess "going with the flow" and making sure to stay PC enough in order to keep all of those endorsements rolling in means more to Brees than these people.
All of this BS for an absolutely terrible, misguided, and factually incorrect "movement".

Jeez you tards are getting dumber by the hour. Why would he lose endorsements by not kneeling?

You ever play team sports?
Drew Brees does it for a living. He's the leader of this team. He's doing this to keep morale up. A locker room full of guys that respect each other makes for a better team on the field.
He's in a no win situation really. He could take a stand against his teammates and piss them off, which I guess would momentarily make your ilk happy but in the end it would probably cause the team to perform worse which would piss you off. And whenever the team loses we all know Brees is the player that takes all the heat.

He and Aaron Rodgers are proving they're not the brightest bulbs out there. They are basically businesses themselves and they are doing everything they can to see their business implode. In a word...stupid.

No, it's not horseshite. He's in a no win situation. You have no room to say someone isn't the brightest bulb, you're proving to be quite the dumbass yourself.
Drew is doing his best to play both sides, which is smart. But he's still getting killed because like I said, it's a no win situation for him.
If he stands and says "no comment" when asked why, then he appeases you, but then the media says that he doesn't care about the dead black kids.
If he kneels during the anthem, you're pissed.
If he kneels before the anthem you're still pissed.
Tell me how it's not a no win situation. Which scenario is a 100% win here, IYO?

You're obviously not in this system if you're spewing such nonsense. It is not easier for non-whites.

Protests are meant to be uncomfortable. There is a problem in this country of police killing unarmed black ppl. I applaud the players for making a point that really, is not in their own personal economic best interest. Personally, would I kneel? No. But I don't have the arrogance to tell someone else how and where they get to exercise their 1st Amd. rights, so "it won't irritate me." And why do we hold jocks to such lofty standards and why do we give a shite whether they sit, stand, or whistle zippy de do dah outta their assholes? "Disrespect to the military?!" How about Deferment Donald mocking John McCain's Vietnam service, while he himself "took a knee" and sat out the war due to sore feet?

Ehh, facts and stats don't agree with you.
Eta: any downvoters want to actually challenge that? Please do. I know people don't like facts in this discussion.

Do what he's done every game of his career prior to one week ago. That would be a win. I know it's rocket science to some.

You sure are crying a ton
How's your Cowboys fandom going?
Then again, you think Drew's salary is the problem with this team

Take some of your money and put it to action for your cause - don't fricking attempt to cram your misguided political beliefs down my throat. Homie don't play that!
frick the NFL until they can get a grip on their EMPLOYEES!
Here's to a hopeful 1-15 season AINTS.

As I understand it, the issue that is being protested isn't a variance in opportunities for different races, or the poverty cycle, or even police brutality itself. It's the proportion of police brutality and police shooting of unarmed black citizens that goes largely unpunished. How often cops get a slap on the wrist or a couple of weeks of 'paid leave' when someone loses their life. Then conservative media paints the person in a negative light, as if defaming them makes it okay that a person died. They're protesting a lack of justice for the loss of life at the hands of those we are supposed to hold to a high standard.
In that regard, black on black crime goes unprotested because justice is largely served in those cases, as well as when any citizen kills another citizen.
If you believe they they are incorrect in protesting that, that's fine. But clearly there is a deep-seeded issue that hasn't been addressed yet and this is how change happens.. Rarely is it comfortable.
I say kudos for them trying to make their point peacefully and now finding a way to do it that doesn't insult the flag or or country.
A lot of them do.

Again, statistics and facts do not support this.
