Washington Selects - Downs

I’m with you.

Fortunately, I think position value wise, CB is more valuable than S which is why I say Delane.

Unfortunately, they have the same needs as us and draft before us in the 1st, 3rd, 5th and 6th rounds. I didn’t realize they didn’t have a 2nd or 4th round pick. That definitely puts Tate and Tyson in play for them.

Mike Greenberg: And we’re back. For those of you who missed it, the Saints selected Caleb Downs out of Ohio State. Now let’s talk about the Kansas City Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes who missed the playoffs, but have a high pick even though they are widely considered to be a great team. Where will they go and is Kenyon Sadiq a consideration as an heir apparent to Travis Kelce?

These WR are not great.

Idk how the value is there for us taking WR at #8 if CLE/ WAS pass on WR with their current depth. For us to get Tate teams with lesser WR rooms would be passing on him for defense/ OL.

WAS could go WR, but their corners are in bad shape. Can’t win like that. Drew threw to nobodies many years

Cleveland has a bigger need at OL, build the trenches. They don’t even have a QB yet that they need to help out. Plus they want to pick #1 next year

I think part of what we are seeing in this mock draft is a good reason why mickey could be legitimately entertaining the idea of going up to 3 to in their mind, just frick it and go grab the next micah parsons or khalil mack of the draft.

Saints. Tyson

I’m sorry but Vele and his 20 catches for 200 something yards is not the answer. Idc what a couple of his fanboys on this board think. We need another really good receiver and Tyson or lemon is it. I think they’d go Tyson over lemon. Idk bout Tyson over Tate but I’m saying Tyson. We HAVE to get better on offense.

I don't hate it in theory. But we cannot lose #42/ #73. Take next years 2nd/ 3rd? Sure. Take next years 1st/ 2nd to get back into the late 1st/ mid 2nd? Sure.

No giving up #42 to move up.

This isn't limited to #8. We don't HAVE to waste #8 on Tate/ Tyson to get a high impact WR. There's like 10-15 WR that we can draft and have a solid chance of becoming better than Vele and our WR2. This is dramatic.

Agree with all of this. My point is that we have similar needs (even if not as extreme) and a better WR core. Just doesn't scream WR, especially if everyone else is holding.

I’d hardly call taking the best receive in the draft when its arguably our biggest team need at a premium money position a “waste “

I’d take Tate over Tyson.

I’d be fine with Tate or Lemon. I don’t think it would be a waste. I think what he’s saying is you could get a stud like Downs or Delane and with your first pick and still get a good WR like Boston, Bell, Bernard, Cooper, Brazzell, Sarratt, Williams, Fields, or Hurst with a 2nd or 3rd pick.

Lemon isn’t a “fit” for our needs at the moment. And there’s too many questions about Tate and Tyson to make them head and shoulders above the other available WRs.

I think we all agree that we probably need at least one, if not two, WRs in this draft.

Downs

I love the Idea of downs but man saints quietly had the

#9 overall defense
#4 overall passing defense
#19 overall rushing defense

Last year.

I think we go defense and I don't think secondary is a bigger need and D-line with Cam out the door

all that said

with the #8 pick the Saints select

Reuben Bain Jr.
