I think part of what's missing from our passing Offense.

He is a better than Coleman so we need him back to what he was. There will come a time in a close game where we need to thread the needle on a pass by the first down marker to move the chains. No one on our team is a better fit for that situation outside of M.Thomas, so need him back.

We will need him to return to form down the stretch .

Huh? He’s a decent receiver I never recall him dropping any balls and he plays special teams too. More weapons for brees the better

I think you take players for a reason. You would not want 4 WRs of Coleman or 4 WRs of Ginn, but the fact remains that Ginn and Snead has the same role and same function on this team.
Maybe when they first signed Ginn they envisioned more of a deep threat. Yes he can still work that role, but as we saw in Carolina---A deep ball to Ginn is about a 33% chance of a completion. He will catch one, drop or misplay once and the defense will be in position for one.
They have now seen that Ginn can be a slot receiver who is actually a better receiver getting the ball into his hands at a shorter distance and actually gets a pretty good YAC.
Then you add in the fact that Ginn is your punt returner over Snead and Snead's role is diminished.

He's very valuable to this team when he's fully healthy.
I believe in Snead. I think he'll help us out later in the season.

Landry set the record for most receptions in NFL history in first 4 years in league.
Snead is just an average wr who runs good routes and pretty good hands. Drew made him. He’s just some guy though.

Wait wait wait...is Lester really saying that Snead is better than Jarvis Landry?
I love Snead for the record and think he absolutely adds value to this team.

I haven't commented on Landry vs. Snead in this thread

Personally, I think he's an above average WR who runs good routes, has damn good hands, & is hard to bring down (he's like a RB with the ball in his hands as far as getting extra yards). He's also clutch & knows how to find the soft spot in a zone. He doesn't have good height, lacks speed, & is an average athlete. Overall , I think he's a good slot WR that Brees trusts. To each his own, but that's my opinion.
He's a low end #2 WR/high end #3 WR with Brees throwing to him imo. Not bad considering we got him for free.

I'd take 4 Randy Moss, Jerry Rice. Hell I'd take 4 Ed McCaffertys.

after last night Landry is averaging 7.7 YPC
The guy runs a 4.77. He can literally only do 1 thing. And that is run short routes. He basically catches the ball and gets tackled immediately 120x a year.
Did anyone watch the pre game last night and him explaining the things he has to do to get open? Subtle cheating tactics to get free that the refs dont catch
Tell me what do you think Landry does that Snead cant do?

Apparently get 2 catches on the season.

Yesterday on the very first drive on the incomplete 3rd down prior to the FG.
Brees had Snead wide open passed the marker basically down field over the middle.
He had Kamara on a Lber going toward the sideline.
Yet he starred down Thomas and the pass was almost picked by David (TB).

That sounds like Drew, Staring down his man..
I think Landry is the best in the game, dude catches everything and does the dirty work. If the saints can afford Landry they should pay him.
Saints Need Snead though.
Drew needs his Snead.
THird down and Snead.
I feel the need for Snead.

You gotta believe he'll start getting more targets down the stretch when we start playing better teams.
So far Ginn has proven to be a solid all around WR instead of just a deep threat ... but I still feel Snead has slightly more reliable hands and is/was a key player in the offense, particularly when we need to convert an important 3rd down.
Besides Thomas, do you really feel we have another sure-handed WR we can go to on key plays in close games? Coleman has been playing relatively well, but it seems like he's reached his ceiling. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's how I see it

Yup.
And to all the Snead questions its simple to me. When Snead has proven he is back to Brees during practice you will see Snead prove it on the field come game time.
