I think the longer this drags out, the better it is for New Orleans. Hear me out...
The last few days, I had the OPPOSITE view. I accept he wants to be in Atl and is trying to give them time to make it work. However, now that we are several days into this, with no real end in sight, its hard not to conclude that Atl cant figure out how to make this work. They not only have to deal with a virtually impossible Matt Ryan trade situation, but they have to weigh the "cost" of betting the house on Watson when they have such a substantial rebuild ahead of them. The fact that he hasnt announced for Atl yet makes it pretty clear that Atl is struggling to make the pieces fit. The longer this goes, the less likely it is they will be able to pull this off.
I say we stand pat.

I wouldn’t pull out, but I would play the same game with them. I would agree quietly to a contract with Winston with the premise being, make ATL give up the farm for Watson and cripple them for years..
Idk if we could do that and keep the agreement with Winston hush though. But it sure seems like that’s what’s going on with Watson..

In a lot of cases pulling out, is pretty solid advice! When it comes landing a potential top 5 franchise QB, you stay in until your out! I would like to think Loomis has a contingency plan in place if the deal falls through.

If Watson decided that he was going to play hardball, that's exactly where we would be. The Texans hold very few cards. There only leverage is to keep Watson on the roster for 35M...everyone knows they don't want that.
Watson is 100% in control.
