OK, look you frick tard, I'll type slowly so that you can understand it.
No one is blaming Goodell. What is going on, just like with Payton, is that people (rightfully so) believe that Goodell is overly harsh with the penalties.
No one is saying that the Saints should not be punished. Rather, we're saying that the punishment should fit the crime.
Goodell isn't saying, "Look how bad arse I am. You're fired." He's saying, "I was really nice to you, and you told me to go frick myself. So frick you."
The punishment totally fits the crime. The Saints said "frick you, Roger." Roger has now responded with, "No, frick you."
Nice little post though, skippy.

Things could have been much worse. Especially since we have a new DC, and new defensive schemes. Its not like smith and vilma were gonna have a leg up on the new guys because they'll be learning too. I was actually up for cutting Vilma a month ago. Smith out four weeks hurts, but not that much. Will Smith's presence wont win or lose us any games. Sign Brees, and lets move forward. The only thing that still bothers me some is losing Vitt for six games. But we should be fine. We have a better roster than we did last year.

He hasn't released the info to the NFLPA. Is it none of their business as well?

Chase Daniel ? @ChaseDaniel I was standing right next 2 @jonvilma51 when he found out abt his suspension ON @SportsCenter. Really? He has to find out about it that way?
Pretty classless. The least the NFL could have done would have been to contact the players before making the info public. Dick move by the league.

quote:Your comparisons and comments are laughable. Since when does Goodell or the NFL have control over the judicial system? Your argument actually supports how ridiculous the suspension are. You are right, the Saints players never served jail time, yet the NFL is treating them worse or as bad as those that have.

What did Vilma do that was equivalent to killing a man (Stallworth)

How much jail time will the saints be serving?
Given the obvious answer to that question, why would you call the two "equivalent?"

Who will be the Des now the first 4 games?
Cameron Jordan and...Turk McBride or Junior Galette?

Stallworth was suspended for a season by the league--AFTER his jail time was served.
Vilma, who served no jail time, is suspended by the league for a year for ALLEGEDLY putting up $10K on Favre.
Same punishment FROM THE LEAGUE for DRASTICALLY different crimes.
Albert Haynesworth ACTUALLY stepped on a player's unprotected head, and got much less from Goodell. Again, his punishments are inconsistent and draconian.
THAT is the beef here, not that there are punishments.

I get that, too. However, you should provide solid evidence that a "bounty scheme" existed. Furthermore, Roethlisberger was a repeat offender when he got suspended for raping women. He got four games.
Look, rational people agree that the suspensions are over the top, and they are that way specifically because the league is facing a lawsuit from former players because of player safety. THAT'S what really going on here.

Then why is anything related to the issue your business? At what point does one aspect of the suspension, which IS your business, cross the threshold into "not my business" territory? Why even post on this thread other than to draw attention to yourself?

To sum up:
Murder =/= bounty program
Murder === bounty program + lying
Thank you.

The head of NFL security was quoted after the Giants/Niners game last year when asked about the Giants players intentionally targeting KWilliams because of his concussions as saying that the players are held accountable for their actions on the field, not their spoken words. Hmmmm, double standard? Where is the proof?! You simply are a troll, so go have fun somewhere else.

I've spoken to SEVERAL people in my office IN frickING ATLANTA who are clearly not Saints fans who believe that this punishment doesn't fit the crime.
Take that for what it's worth, "skippy".
