how a self "proclaimed" fan of a team consistently shits on a player of said team is just mind numbingly dumb.

don't like the signing? that is fine, but no matter how much you bitch or tear a guy down, or point out all his negatives - it wont change the fact he is here.

Terrible stat. Means you're always losing late in games. I guess it's a good silver lining to have, but it's a sign of bad teams. Carr is Dalton clone. Moscona had a great take on this. I think you can win with him if you have a great defense and offense already established.

Stating obvious drawbacks to his game as this board continues to overhype him is “bitching” now.

Suck his dick why don’t you?

This thread was Derek Carr has more game winning drives than any other NFL QB since the 2016 season. Instead of starting your own thread with your own narrative you decided to hijack this one. Instead of ignoring you I respond with acknowledging it with this statement( Yes his turnover number is high but the issue with having a terrible defense is you consistently put your offense at a distinct disadvantage because of poor starting field position so you're forced to take risks in order to get out of the shadow of your own goalpost. Higher risk of sacks and interceptions. Go check Drew Brees' top 7 of 8 worst years for interceptions at San Diego and New Orleans and the defense every year is ranked 26th or worse. If you can't understand this explanation it's because you don't want to. Carr is the starter. It's his job to win or lose. May as well get used to it.

Go to this link. All of Brees' worst years for interceptions coincide with 8-8 or worse win/loss records and 26th or worse ranked defenses except 2010. If you are starting out deep in your own territory you are backed against your goal the QB is forced to unload the ball quicker.

That does not logically follow this

You need to find average starting field position to logically conclude your claim.

no passer in the NFL has led more game-winning drives, per NFL Stats and Research.

I’d bet he’s in the top 3 of “losing late in the game” too. He’s been given way more opportunities to make a comeback. Deceptive stats are deceptive

Derek Carr...surprising stat

Derek Carr finished the season last among 33 qualifiers in red zone passer rating at 74.6. That’s lowest in NFL since 2020. Womp womp.

So do we hope that we're down in the 4th quarter, or do we hope that we don't dig a hole as usual and put ourselves in that situation?

I personally do not like when we 'wait until the 4th quarter' to play football.

I'll take a touchdown and field goal each quarter for every game. Defense goes bend but don't break........we're good.

With the offense I don't see how it's possible to score less than 28 a game.

You do know that the Chiefs lead the league last season with a hair over 29 points/game, right? And that Mahomes is 100,000,000 times the QB Carr is, right? So how do you envision a Carr lead offense scores 28/game at minimum?

I love the delusion on this forum. Really, I do.

It really can be fun. This will be one of those great ones where you ask the poster to think of the best offense he's ever seen, then look at that schedule and count the number of times that team failed to score 28 points.

Now think about this team and realize that they should get a TD on ~40-50% of the times they touch the ball because there are a bunch of names on offense that I recognize

Carmichael and D.A. both have admitted they under utilized Taysom last season and plan on changing that this season. I would really like to see them install some red zone plays where he is lined up as T.E. or rb with Carr having the designed option to audible out depending on the coverage on Taysom and use him as a lead blocker like a fb.

You do know what 28 points a game is, right? 4 touchdowns without any field goals......Drew averaged 28 ppg with his time with the Saints.

That's over how many years? All we need is a couple good seasons from Carr. 2 of the best WRs in the league with Olave and Thomas (if health). Decent at best TE production is at least one TD per game.

The lack of difficulty our schedule presents is a very opportunistic as well.

Eh, delusional, whatever.

VH isn't interested in facts. Only in attention. Mahomes is a very physically gifted QB and not dumb by any means but one of the talking heads on the NFL network featured a stretch of plays that Mahomes was able to extend with his legs but also pointed out several mental errors that got him in those situations, point being that you have to progress mentally as you age as those physical gifts begin to dissipate. The score board doesn't care how you got those points whether it be by your wheels or your wits. For sure Carr was brought here to operate the offense we put in place. No one in their right mind expects him to run it with just his legs and arm. They are counting on his ability to operate it with his cognitives .

Derek Carr isn’t Drew Brees. Patrick Mahomes averaged a hair over 29 last year and lead the league. Context matters.

You don’t get to blindly say you don’t see how we don’t score 28 pts/game minimum without the reality of the best play caller (Reid) and the best QB (Mahomes) averaging just over that.

Yes, delusional.
