re: Derek Carr is the Saints best hope for a winning season next year and a Division Title.

Stafford was 74-90-1 at Detroit before winning a SB in LA. Stafford was 0-3 in playoffs at Detroit
Stafford was lighting it up numbers wise in Detroit on shite teams. Most people thought he would be the guy to end up with all the passing records til he started having some injuries.
He was a talented qb lighting it up on shite teams and a shite organization. He was traded to a loaded roster with a qb guru ready to win.
Carr isn’t nearly as talented as Stafford. Not even close. Stafford also built a rep of being tough.

I’ve always like the guy. I’m good wit it.

So now you're just agreeing with me and talking out of both ends of your mouth.
By saying he’s average, has no consistency game to game, and is the same player as Andy Dalton?
I don’t even think you know what your own argument is - but you were a Jameis cockrider for 2 years so you have no credibility anyway. Confused lil guy.

The Saints have the best roster of all of the NFC South teams and an upgrade over Andy Dalton/Jameis Winston would look like Derek Carr. The Saints would immediately be favorites.
Yay. Being favorites of the worst division in football.
What's the point?

That's not nearly the same thing as saying he's "dogshit, not good enough, etc"
Average qb play on a good team can make the playoffs.

Lil guy, let me teach you something about context. Here we are in a thread titled:
quote:
Derek Carr is the Saints best hope for a winning season next year and a Division Title.
Having read that, I replied to the thread and said Carr looked like dogshit all year (he did), he was inconsistent (he was) and he was no better than Dalton by any objective standard last year (he wasn't). This, despite having far more talent to work with in the league's leading rusher and its best WR.
Carr completed less than 60% of his passes in the majority of his games. That's dogshit.
The Raiders's best passing performance all year last season? Jarrett Stidham who replaced Carr - against the 49ers with the #1 defense in the league. 23/34, 365 yards, 3 TD, 2 INT.
Davante Adams's best game? Also with Stidham against the #1 defense. 7, 153, 2 TD.
Argument could be made that Carr was holding the offense back. He's an average player who at his worst is dogshit. Context.

You suck at it.

Those were his completion percentages the previous 4 years. Josh McDaniels and not having his elite te hurt him a lot this year.
Hes had 6 bad coaches his entire career. Josh McDaniels is a bad coach but I'm sure in your infinite wisdom you took that into consideration.

Dude come on.
I like Carr more than most. Under CSP I felt like he could be a poor man’s Brees.
Waller was hurt this year but he was given a top 3 WR and he had Josh jacobs running like he was on absolute fire all year. He wasn’t good.
One of those 6 bad coaches is our current shitty coach with and even shittier offensive coordinator.
This roster and coaching staff especially aren’t a Derek Carr from competing for anything other than a .500ish season and a WC exit.
Take our lumps and actually responsibly build this roster and stop plugging cap holes indefinitely.

Oh lil guy. We're blaming McDaniels and Davante Adams on Carr's completion percentage falling off a cliff?

I actually hate McDaniels and Carr both. But I'm not placing the blame on him for Carr having the league's leading rusher and being given the best WR in football and looking like a slapdick all year.
Poor lil guy.

Oh lil kid, we didn't mention davante adams, who btw didn't have the best game of his season with stidham like you incorrectly claimed, it was the chargers game derek qb'd.
Crazy how Adams still had his 2nd best receiving season from a yards standpoint, his 2nd best from a td standpoint, and had a career ypc season for him. With Carr. As his qb.
But hey I know reading is hard for a little feller like you.

Hey if you don't think McDaniels shite scheme and playcalling cost them this year then I'm good on continuing this conversation. You just don't watch the game the same way I do. I'm good.

Yeah that's what I want to do as well. By no means do I want to trade or even sign Carr to a big contract. I just think the Raiders org is the main reason he gets a bad rap.

Oh, just McDaniels then? Seems to me like you were making excuses as to why he got worse.

No lil guy. Carving up the 49ers D for 21 yards a catch is significantly more noteworthy than putting the 23rd ranked D on skates. This isn't fantasy football - it's not a simple "guy had better stats." It's stats v. quality of opponent. ~20ish more yards on 1 more catch against a much worse overall D doesn't make that his best game.

Jameis dick riding lil guy, how does this credit Carr but not McDaniels who you blame for Carr sucking? The same McDaniels who had Mac Jones throwing at a nice clip last year and is a Super Bowl champion playcaller?

You had Jameis's balls in your mouth for the last few seasons, nobody takes you seriously anyway.
