Non-answer. Give me specific instances. Games that were won because of Carr.

He is 13th all time in game winning 4th quarter drives. Had 4 last year.

In 2021, thanksgiving day @ Dallas. Also Baltimore and Miami games. 373-435 yards in those games. Led them on game winning drives.

In 2020, beat KC on road, >120 passer rating. 40+ points, 350+ yards

Does this include dropping Jameis and Dalton's contracts

Jameis is going to count 12 mil on next year's cap even if they cut him. Dalton is a ufa.

At 60M over the cap before adding him, I’m not sure the defense will remain elite.

If this is the route they go I expect Lat to restructure his deal, Davenport is likely gone and that ok with me. Cam could restructure or be a shocking June 1st cut.

The lynch pin for the Saints and their cap is MT13. He's either gone and we carry 13 mil in dead money to 2024 or he decides he wants to stay and catch balls from Carr and he extends and restructures his freshly restructured deal because there is not way he is on the roster on March 17th with a 33 mill roster bonus coming due for 2024. He alone will cound 60 mil against the cap in 2024 as is.

Car has a big contract but his dead money is penny's compared to other players. If for some reason it doesn't work out and they need to cut him.

No, you simply looked at the games Carr had decent stats in and decided he won them or otherwise elevated play because he threw for X amount of yards.

Lol. He executed a game-winning 4th Q or OT drive in all but one of those games, and in that one he executed a drive to go up 16 on the eventual AFC champ in their house to put the game away—it was KCs only loss in which they didn’t sit their starters because they already locked up the 1 seed.

And in none of those games did Carr have a true #1 WR.

Carr lost a fumble earlier in the game because he held the ball too long inside of the pocket, and then threw a pick into triple coverage right to a Bengals defender to seal the loss.

Lol you act like Brees didn’t do shite like this in the playoffs. Did it make him less great? No. fricking Burrow threw 2 horrendous picks and lost his team the AFCCG, you gonna sit here and tell me you wouldn’t take Joe Burrow?

Stats show when Carr has a competent D, he is capable of leading a team to the playoffs. I didn’t say anything about him winning. But if given an elite D, a better OL, who knows what can happen,

He threw for 1 TD, 1 INT, and fumbled against Dallas. Their kicker, Daniel Carlson, directly accounted for 18 points. You give that credit to Derek Carr? A kicker goes 5/5 FG and 3/3 XP and this is on the QB? Marcus Mariota scored as many TD as Carr.

Baltimore - a bunch of yards, 2 TD, an INT, and yet another fumble.

You can't recall a single instance where Carr won you a game because of his presence so instead you just look at game logs and say he had good stats so...yeah.

But when he did have a #1 WR which just so happened to be the best WR in football, he had his worst season ever, huh? Make it make sense for me.

Derek Carr isn't Drew Brees.

Nobody cares Brees did it because Brees was breaking records and was the entire team. Carr threw for 30 TD one time 8 years ago. Brees threw for 30 TD NINE STRAIGHT TIMES!

Brees carried the Saints. Carr was just part of a scrappy Raiders team.

Look, I'm going to leave it alone. But come December, be ready because I've bookmarked this to troll the ever living frick out of you, just like I did all the Winston clowns.

I gave you a bunch of games where he put up big yardage and led game winning drives. I guess that he didn’t win them those games because he turned it over once or used a kicker to get points. Maybe it was their bottom feeder defense that won them by giving up 30+

Mariota was routinely brought in to run read option. Scored on the goal line. Last I checked, Kickers didn’t lead drives into FG range. Love that you discount games where he’s leading them to 500+ yard outputs and throwing for 350+ While scoring 35+ and executing game winning drives because he didn’t throw a bunch of TDs.

Adams broke tim browns single season yardage record from the 90s. The raiders set an NFL record for blown double digit second half leads. McDaniels play calling in many of these games was laughable. It was widely regarded as such. Here’s an analysis by a Vegas stat geek.
Warren sharp

Adams and Jacob’s both on record talking shite about playcalling in post games. It was widely reported that Carr wasn’t allowed to audible at all and had 1 read designs early in the season.

Raiders insider Vic Tafur reported on that dynamic this week in The Athletic:

“The nine-year veteran has a lot of respect for McDaniels, but one issue that was obvious early on was that Carr missed the ability to change more calls at the line of scrimmage like he had with Jon Gruden and interim coach Rich Bisaccia. One has to wonder if that would be a problem with Rodgers and McDaniels.”

In a previous story, Tafur wrote about play calls not being carried out in the Seattle game and there have been whispers that Carr may have gone rogue on occasion during the Raiders 40-34 overtime win in Seattle. Looking back, it’s ironic that the Seattle game “widened the divide” between Carr and McDaniels as that seemed to be one of the high points of the season.
