Dennis Allen is already a better QB recruiter than Payton

Some offensive guru Payton was, he got lucky Miami chose not to take brees. Just think if he never got him Payton probably lasts 4-5 years tops

Are you basing this on our backup’s 5 pass attempts in one preseason game?

Dude, who was coming here knowing they weren’t gonna compete with Brees?

What? Didn’t Payton get Jameis, the guy who will now be the starter, to come here to be a backup? How is that not better than getting Dalton, the backup, to be a backup?

He should have drafted the Pitt QB.

I mean, Dalton was told he wasn’t competing for the starting job either. Literally right when he signed be said he knew he was only the backup and was told that up front.

So I don’t know if that’s relevant.

He did pretty good with Kerry Collins, Tony Romo, and wanted to draft Patrick Maholmes and Mac Jones. Those QBs he drafted were project fliers incase they panned out. He knows a good QB when he sees one. If I'm not mistaken I believe he tried to pry Romo away from the cowboys at some point.
