Were Davenport, Trey, and Cam on the field together during an obvious pass rushing situation? If not, I wish that Allen would consider this, much like the Giants did during years that had Strahan, Justin Tuck and Osi Umenyiora or Tuck, Umenyiora, Mathias Kiwanuka and Jason Pierre-Paul.

Yeah Davenport was distruptive and impacted the game in a lot of ways and... remember... this was his first real game action in, what, ten months?

I said it after the tampa bay game, davenport NEEDS to be healthy to give this DL the push into becoming elite.

There was a play last night he ate up a double team and still generated pressure. Those are the things that opens up 1v1 for Cam, etc

Cheesey line, but Davenport's effect just doesn't show up on the stat sheet. The D-Line unit as a whole appeared to have more penetration/disruption.

I thought our DL as a unit played really well overall. Doesn’t help them that our secondary is trash, but the pressure was on the rook all night

That said Cam didnt do enough(pro bowl level), considering the entire starting right side of their line was missing, same exact thing as the Raiders game.

CAM JORDAN!

Cam checks in as the highest graded #Saints defender after a monster night against LA.

• 90.8 OVR grade
• 83.7 Run def. grade
• 83.6 Pass rush grade
• 8 total pressures (1 sack, 7 hur.)
• Avg. tackle depth of 1 yard against the run on 8 total tackles

Just because a backup tackle is in it doesn't mean the DE will have one of those Chuck Smith vs. Willie Roaf games.

Sam Tevi, the backup tackle, was PFF’s worst graded pass blocking tackle last year

Anyway, this illustrates how important Cam is to the defense. He needs to bring it against good competition now. He’s been trash up until last night

wasn't this the first game where we've had our best players healthy on the Dline all year?

Not a coincidence that it was the day Dav came back

Cam has played 95-98% of snaps for a decade now. He’s 31. It might be at the point where he’s best at 75-80%. Last night he was 83%.

Yep

#Chargers Bottom-5 offensive grades per PFF (min. 25 snaps):

Forrest Lamp - 31.2
Dan Feeney - 38.6
Trey Pipkins - 40.5
Ryan Groy - 46.9
Sam Tevi - 47.4

Well i'm glad for the win but i didn't realize they were that far in the hole on the O-line (Chargers).

so basically they were without Ekeler, Allen (most of the time), and slew of O-linemen.

great.

Looking for a silver lining which at least we won but to struggle that much with a 1-3 squad down several players is concerning.

hoping for the best while refusing to get too invested.

<_----- Nope not this guy. Not again.

Amazing what happens for Cam when Davenport is in. Other guys may be good but Davenport takes pressure off of Cam.

Could have used him a while back when Cam was stoned by the third team OT.
