I thought David Johnson would fit well, especially for a handful of games while Kamara is suspended
David Johnson five years ago, sure. He’s done now though.
Williams is the best FA RB available IMO.
Wayne Gallman, Justin Jackson, Devonta Freeman and Latavius Murray are the next best available. Sooooo, yeah, I’m all for signing Williams.

Cause he good. Why is washington supposedly a bad arse ?? He been on roster as a special teamer and thats it. What can tony jones do? He been on roster and was injured most of his rookie season, un proven guy. Kamara will be in time out for dont know how long. Ingram is proven guy and his age is getting up there. The udfa rookie is a bad arse i know that but i want tk see someone push his limits. Id like to see saints sign darrel williams cause they need help all over the field. Enough with this non sense bs u say "oh u want him cause he lsu alumni" yah u a dumb idiot everyone knows that. Darell williams is a proven pro and has a super bowl ring on his resume and went to another super bowl as well. I betcha you didnt know all that did ya. You Probably just found out about the sport yesterday

Saints just need 4 games or so out of him while Kamara is suspended. I’m down to sign him and see if he can outplay Abrams or Jones Jr. for the job.

Why?
I’m all about signing LSU players or proven winners over the huge run of OSU players the Saints usually go after but this ain’t it.

You're the one poopoo'ing an obvious upgrade just because he went to LSU.
Posted on 5/21/22 at 7:16 pm to saintsfan22
I dont think hes an upgrade over Ingram, and dont think the extra salary or roster spot is worth more than what we have.
and....
regardless of what people say, they wouldnt be crying so hard for the signing if he had went to Indiana.

Be nice to find out in camp

However David Johnson i personally would love to add if Williams doesnt get signed. More versatile than Williams

Yeah he’s LSU, but he’s also a solid and proven back up. He has more game time experience that has mattered than Washington and Ozigbo. He’d be a great addition.

You must not have been able to get into LSU. With the hard-on you have against LSU players, that’s the only logical explanation.

Nice... no I didnt go to LSU...I dont have anything against LSU players...also dont have anything with LSU players playing for the saints.
But I am a big whodat....and I know, as sure as the leaves change colors, that EVERY SINGLE TIME an LSU player becomes available - whether its waivers, free agency or the draft - posters here lose their purple and gold minds and start with the same bullshite about the Saints signing them....every. fricking. time.
16 years and 70k plus posts and you should know that too.

ozigbo

jones

people want this guy cause LSU

how bout 912 in his entire 4 year career?
But if you wanna base it off of stats Id say we are ok with what we have.
just be honest - you wouldnt be stumping for this guy if he went to Northwestern

Let's see total yards now.
ETA... Williams had 1000 scrimmage yards last year. He had a solid PFF grade, 67.2. No one is claiming he's a difference maker. He's just a solid rb that'll help in the passing game, which is important with AK facing a suspension.

Also 1 TD in 5 years, vs 10 in 4.
You are making my case for me.
quote:Assuming Ingram is back to form, your argument is that the Saints are better off with a Ingram/Washington/Jones/Practice Squadder, than with Ingram/Williams/Jones?
But if you wanna base it off of stats Id say we are ok with what we have.
With a straight face, you make that statement?
The only RB rated higher than Williams in the FA market, is Johnson. Johnson is a huge question mark, after how shitty he played last season. Ingram rushed for more yards in 7 games with the Texans, than Johnson got in 13.
