i know none of us want to face reality with this FO, but DA is going to finish his full contract here through end of 2025 season.

that means that most likely, jan 2026 is the earliest we would have a new HC coming in.

micky and DA are close friends and mickey DGAF so no he will not fire DA at any point, even if we go 5-12 next year.

this year was blamed on mickey making him keep the status quo, and this year will be looked at as the first year rebuild of his team free of running on cruise control with paytons staff.

i hope im wrong, but i think DA is going to be here as HC 2 more years, so you need to prepare yourselves for that.

EDIT - dates corrected

I'm ok if he hires the right offensive coord and make Carr functional while trying to land the future QB.

The defense has held up under Dennis Allen and sometimes we forget how bad some of the Saints defenses were under Payton.

Just because a coach fails in one place doesn't mean he's not capable. Look at Spags with the Chiefs, he's a big reason they are back in the Super bowl.

Dennis Allen isn't coaching as long as he has in the NFL if he's not respected and I think you can respect his defensive success over the long haul.

As a head coach, it's his job to make sure all aspects of the organization are functioning so the team can be successful and the offense didn't do it's part this season. It's on him to fix it.

Is the franchise making money and winning? Why make changes?

Wrong. His contract was 4 years—22, 23, 24 and 25 seasons

I don't think DA is a great coach, but honestly there's not a coach alive that could turn this team into a playoff contender overnight. We have very little talent on this squad and no way of improving any time soon. Better to begin the rebuild now and hire a good candidate when the time is right.

If that's the case, people need to quit watching and stop going to games.

Top brass has already called their fans broke and dumb. Allowing DA to stay for 3 more years would just be more blatant disrespect.

I don’t think you have a clue and nobody really does. He’s taking a ton of heat by allowing Allen to even return. Giving him a new OC and another year for him to go 5-12 and you don’t think he’d get canned? They may burn Mickey out of his office and execute him on Poydras.

The better thread is Dan Campbell under contract for 6 years for 24 million. We got DA for 32 million in 4 years.

yes, michael thomas getting paid 80 million over 4 years barely getting 1000 yards total is a huge piece to a super bowl run. Payton turner being a no show. Penning's injury holding back his development time. Olave being a bit of a head case. Juwan disappearing for 12 games. Cam Jordan injured and went to shite.

We very easily make a playoff run this year with all that with non garbage coaching.

If that’s true then house needs to be cleaned from the top down. Because this franchise has been run like a Super Bowl contender for years now. Also, you don’t keep a bad coach in charge of a rebuild. Are you high? You don’t want that idiot’s input on anything that has to do with the future of this franchise. Let DA flame out this season then move on. And yes, I’m aware that nothing is truly getting fixed as long as Loomis is here.

What pieces?

There is a substantial talent gap between the teams that made a deep playoff run and the Saints. Not to mention we have an aging below avg. qb who's never won a playoff game in his life.

True. But at the same time you could end up in this never ending cycle of hiring and firing coaches because they are unable to have instant success. If you don't have a good roster it doesn't matter who the coach is. You can't make chicken salad outta chicken shite.
