What’s wrong about having 2 good QB’s? I want Teddy to take over once Brees retires.

1) Belichick would get a third round compensatory after letting him walk

2) what if brees goes down again? It’s not unheard of that a 40 year old QB gets injured in the NFL.

Super bowl or bust. It’s nice to look towards the future, but we gotta get it while we can

If we’d signed him for two years we’d be sitting pretty.

Who is desperate for a QB for About 4 games of a season by the time he has any clue of the offense....say what?

What a dumb thought.

A team that trades for him could use franchise tag correct?

So that means up to 2 years they could keep him if they went the Kirk Cousins route?

Teddy wants to play for Payton. There are only maybe 2-3 teams that need would be willing to get rid of their starting QB for Teddy right now. Maybe Cincy, Miami, and Tampa. He walked away from Miami this year to be a backup here. He is making business decisions. It trading him didn't land us Joe or fragile Tua, then it's not worth it.

How many years do people think Drew is going to stick around? If we win it all this year, it could be Drew's last. If not, I can definitely see next year no matter what.

The concept of trading him is nonsensical media-topic bluster. That said, he will be leaving at the end of the season. At least two or three teams will be in the market for a starting QB and will be willing to overpay him. Yes, overpay.

So many people on here overrate Bridgewater it's as if you all only listen to the game on the radio and don't actually watch the man live in-action. He's not worth allocating $15-20+ million towards. Not when you have other, actually good players like Alvin Kamara for whom you need to earmark that cap space.

It is no secret Payton has talked up Taysom Hill. There is a reason for that. He wants to keep Hill engaged for the time being knowing that Hill will transition to the full-time backup for Brees after this season and/or possibly the next starting QB for the Saints.

Of course, the odds are that Brees comes back, Teddy stays, and we continue our historic and amazing march to the Super
Bowl.

We paid Teddy $7.5 million as an insurance policy in case Brees went down. It happened and Teddy has always been worth every penny? Now people just want to trade him away? What if the unthinkable happens to Brees again? What would’ve been the whole point of signing Teddy to begin with?

I don't think people want to trade him, but we all know how this business works.

He said it plus most reports is that’s how long it takes to 100% heal. I wasn’t suggesting keeping him out for 3 full months though.
